I think you should have a clear story and also a clear way to show the CBP that you have a way of supporting yourself during the time you spend in the USA. To me it sounds like they might have quite some questions about you not working (not having any income then, I assume?) during the winter period until March.

Better to be prepared, good luck!

Thankyou for your reply.

My story is basically the same as I said above, just seeing my girlfriend, friend, Uncle and then her friends. (Not all in that order), traveling to New York, Washington. Etc.

Plus I have a friend and her other half (all from the UK) having a holiday in New York in January too, so we're planning to meet up with them too.

With me being in the Landscaping business, we rarely carry out work over winter between end of October / Late November and March really.

Our season usually starts in April and finsihes the last week of October.

I'll have the funds to support myself. All credit cards are paid off in full too.

Not sure if it would help if I printed off my statements?

Any suggestions welcome and thanks again for your reply.

Thanks for that.

Do I need proof of visiting other places, tickets booked in advance etc?

The thing is, we plan on doing a lot of traveling. But haven't actually booked anywhere yet.

We didn't plan to book, just travel and explore, that kind of thing. Similar to what we'll be doing when she comes over here.

I have family over here, 14 nieces and nephews. No reason not to come back. My business has a website and a Facebook page, infact ntoh sides of it do. Would that be proof enough if they asked?

I also have a three domestic clients which we do grounds maintenance for, but a huge majority of the work is landscaping construction. You know, re- designs, from design to construction completion.

So they're mostly one offs.

I'm not sure exactly what else to say to them. If they pull me to the side.

A John Deere tractor is a good and pricey bit of kit! I've used them before, love the things.

Your garden must be huge to need one of them though, most of my clients aren't much bigger than a postage stamp.

Website and facebook page should be enough to show them that you run your own business.

I tend to like to do the flexible thing when traveling too and not book much in advance. It would be good to at least have some kind of itinery so if they ask you what you are going to be doing you can detail where you are going to go and what you are going to see. Its unlikely they'll ask, but its good to have some plans if they do. I'd be surprised if you have problems - other people here have done 90 day stays and not had problems, and you've got a good explanation for how you can take the time off work, and reasons to go back (a business).

Our yard isn't enormous - about half an acre, only takes about 25 mins to mow it. The mower is the bottom of the range model so not too pricey, but it was my American dream to have a JD. Its got a cup holder so I can drink a bud light or two while I'm doing it.

Hi everyone!! Getting a little nervous I spoke with my friend who is an immigration attorney. We got our NOA2 the end of September and haven’t received our case number or anything for NVC as of yet. My partner is coming to visit in December for the holidays for two weeks. We were hoping to schedule the interview and medical after that trip. Do you think we are going to run into any problems? Obviously he would bring documentation that he intends to go back, paperwork on interview, lease, bills and something from job showing he has one. Any advise is appreciated :)

You should be okay, apparently actual denial of entry rates are super low, so the most likely worst case scenario is your partner being pulled into secondary for questioning; my husband only had the NOA2 and the return flight itinerary with him when he came to visit, he got pulled into secondary but they still let him in despite no job, no property, or any ties to his country

Hi everyone. I’m a US citizen and I’ll be flying into Chicago O’Hare soon with my Japanese fiancée who has ESTA. She has never traveled to the US. We haven’t filed K1 because we won’t marry in the states, instead we’re marrying in Japan next February.

My question is for anyone familiar with O’Hare - do you know if I’ll be able to go in the ESTA line with her and go together up to the immigration officer? Or will we have to go in separate lines to different immigration officers?  Thanks for your help.

Hi all,

I recently visited my wife on my ESTA (waiting for NO2 I130). As most people, I was nervous going through customs, however I spent 5 minutes tops as I was asked basic questions and answered them accordingly.

Just a quick question, as my ESTA is expiring early next year, does anyone know whether I can re-apply for ESTA or will I need to apply for a tourist visa if I plan to go back to the US whilst waiting for our I130?

Thanks in advance.

Hello all!  We are applying for B2 visa here in Korea, even though my fiance is Russian she is a Korean resident.  Any thoughts if it is OK for me to be with her at her interview at the embassy or should she just do the interview alone?  She is worried that her english won't be good enough and she won't understand something or that she may answer a question wrong.  I wrote a letter about me paying her expenses and that we are going through the K1 visa process and just want her to come visit for the holidays.  Hoping that honesty is good enough for them.  *fingers crossed*

The interview is for her visitor visa.  You will not be allowed into her interview since you are not a part of it.

Reapply for ESTA.  If you are refused a tourist visa, you will not be able to use ESTA/VWP.

You can renew your ESTA, my husband did easily earlier this year while our I130 was still pending

Thank you.  You were, of course, correct.  They wouldn't even let me into the building without an appointment.  But good news is she go approved for the B2 visa and should be able to come to the US for the holidays as we had hoped!
