Hi, I applied for change of stats with my wife in December 2017, had fingerprints taken by the end of January 2018 and iam still waiting for my EAD or any updates. any help, does it take this much time usually in Texas.?

Which local office?

 

For the Houston office, we had smooth time and no issues. Was relatively fast. Some though 2-3 months after us who filed said it has been really slow.

It looks like the interview for the I-485 is been faster compared to the EAD and AP. We applied last January 29 2018, got an RFE for recent tax documents 2 weeks ago, and now my case is ready for interview.

You should inquire after your case online. If you don't have a response within a month, or don't want to wait, schedule an InfoPass appointment. According to the website, your case is outside of regular processing times.
