I used to be a member on this site 13 years ago as my husband and I started our process from the UK, We have been in the states now for 11 years and are US Citizens. I am looking to bring my son from New Zealand , he is recently separated and is looking for  a new start here. We have already started the necessary forms but has anyone any idea on a rough timeline for this process now. Thank you

Make sure you update the case after he’s properly divorced, as it’s faster for unmarried children than married. (But still not fast.)

The time line does not seem to bad at all, apart from which he is financially stable as are we

7 years not too bad? (Assuming you change his category to unmarried)

Guess you have more patience than most! (Seems a bit long to wait for a “new start” to me tbh)

Just a general question , If a visa is approved, is there a time limit as to when the recipient has to enter the USA

Yes. The visa has an expiry date, which will be 6 months maximum after issue but usually shorter as the true validity is 6 months from the date of the required medical test. So depends how long before the interview the medical is done.
