AWESOME!  I am so glad that worked out.  We all need to beware of lawyers.  There are good ones but for some reason lawyers I've read about here are less than helpful.  They do relieve our wallets of extra cash though.  I am really glad you asked here.  Your lawyer could have kept you on the hook for a long time while happily collecting your money!

Congrats and good luck this time around.  Stay positive, you know this is a long stressful journey!

Personally, I would withdraw the previous petition and refile.  I am not an expert but that seems the quickest and easiest route.  You may wait months and even years for USCIS.  Just withdraw and refile (my opinion).

I know he could have kept me here for long but God is good Thank you so much I will withdraw and refile

Yes my lawyer was conducted traditional is not legally married to me he say because is not a court marriage I think is my lawyer fault that he told my wife in U.S and I told my wife to get new immigration lawyer for the next step and I just called a lawyer in Nigeria for the divorce he say I should come and see him tomorrow thank you so much for the help

You can get the traditional marriage dissolved in a customary court in Nigeria. You have to consult a Nigerian lawyer for that. There will be a hearing and the court will issue a dissolution order/certificate  if they are convinced.  So I suggest that you contact your ex-spouse because the court will issue them an order to appear in court. This is how it happens in Nigeria .    Once you have that dissolution certificate in hand, you may have to re-apply for the i-130

I know I have divorce since 2016 but I didn’t go back for the divorce certificate since then because my lawyer told me that I didn’t need it.now that I need it and I went to the court two weeks ago to ask for it and then to me to pay some money. I just got the certificate today in hand so I have to re-apply. Thank you so much for the help
