I129f expiration date??

just  quick question but any help would be appreciated. 

 

So my fiancee and I are in the process of putting together our I-129f. We haven't submitted anything yet but the expiration date on the I-129F is 31/08/2018. My question is: if we send the documents off before it expires (late July-early August for example) could that cause problems? Would it be a better idea to wait for the next dated -129F?

 

sorry for the essay but it's definitely something that worries us.

USCIS needs to receive the file BEFORE the expiration of the form. Worse case scenario they could send back the packet for incorrect form filed, which would then have you send the new form with the packet.

 

My advice, wait until the new form generates.

That's the OMB expiration date. Unless you are the Office of Management and Budget, you don't use that. USCIS accepts forms based on the Edition Date in the lower left corner. The current I-129F edition date is 04/10/17.

I don't quite understand. 04/10/17 wouldn't be an expiration date, right? As that date had since past?

It's the form's edition date. There are no firm expiration dates used by USCIS on the forms. They just stop accepting forms and start accepting a new edition.
