CR1 visa process

Hi,

Quick question... For the people who have pursued cr1 marriage visa, did you navigate the process yourself or have any of you used a service such as Rapid Visa?

We're anticipating that hour marriage visa is going to be a difficult one because of an age difference and we really want to do everything we can to submit a strong application that will demonstrate our relationship and our commitment to each other.

Any suggestions on which service to use... Or is it best to do it all yourself?

Thanks,

MJ

I am doing  CR1 myself. We have large age difference ( 14 years) but i think it depends on which side is older, according to reports in VJ, if USC male is  older, should not be much of an issue but i don't know for sure. In my case.

  1. it is first marriage for both of us. No kids.
  2. same language, religion & background.
  3. Male petitioner is older. It is not common to have this much age gap normally but also it is not unusual in Nepal. Petitioner has never filed any petition for anyone else.

If you could share your details, people will be able to give you idea about which route to go for.

While a significant age difference can raise red flags with USCIS, it doesn't alter the fact that services like RapidVisa  don't really do anything you can't do on your own, with some assistance from the people at VisaJourney.

Even if you use a service, you still provide all the documentation, answer all the questions, etc. They just fill in the forms with the answers you provide. And charge a pretty hefty fee to do it. From what we hear around here, they make just as many errors as regular people do.

If the age difference is not your only red flag, you may at some point need to bring in outside assistance, but if you read the instructions carefully, pay attention to the suggestions of people here on these forums, and collect as much hard evidence as you can as to the legitimacy of your relationship, you should be able to do this on your own, on exactly the same schedule as people paying for "help" from companies like Rapid Visa.

Incidentally, I am 11 years older than my husband, (not a HUGE difference, but sometimes people think it is a big deal when the woman is older than the man) and we had no delays (well, no delays that were our fault - USCIS being super-slow affects everyone) doing it all ourselves.

Is your timeline updated?

Oath Ceremony Dec 14th, 2018 I am finally a citizen and done with USCIS for good!

Avoid RapidVisa, lots of horror stories, if you need a Lawyer use a Lawyer.

I wouldn't use Rapid Visa.  Whether you hire an attorney or not, you will still need as much actual face time together as possible.  Will his interview be in Egypt?

Do you have other red flags?  Same religion?  What is the age difference? How much time have you sent together in person to date? Has he been denied previously?

Thanks for all of your input.

I really just wanted advice on rapid Visa versus any other services that are out there.

But in response to your questions we have a 29 year age difference and I am older than my boyfriend.

We are not the same religion.

He does speak English.

You must denied for tourist visa to the US which is not at all uncommon for an Egyptian man to be denied.

We've been in a relationship for one year.  We have lots of physical proof of our relationship... Chat logs, phone records, pictures and video sent back and forth we've met each other's family on video chat in fact I talk to his family everyday and I've met his friends.

When I start the application I will have had two visits to Egypt...

Please no judgement about marrying on the first visit. I've never been more sure of anything in my life...

It sounds like I haven't heard anything positive about Rapid Visa... So I'll take that into consideration.

Thanks!

MJ

No judgement intended, but maybe a dose of reality is in order. You face a long uphill battle due to several very significant red flags.   Good luck........I wish you the best.

You spent a year in Egypt, that is a positive.

No offense but this sounds exactly what many, many other women said when they got scammed. Age difference, religion difference, denied tourist visa, chatting with all family and friends online so you have this sense of security...

We have seen posts same as yours where older American women were later crying because their new husband left as soon as he arrived in the US.

Just saying. Move to him to Egypt for a little bit and see how he really is. And be careful. It would be a shame to see another scam story.

Yes, amazingly, the exact scenario has appeared many times......and it seems they rarely end well....
