The United States Army has been quietly discharging a number of immigrant recruits, according to recent reports by the Associated Press and the NewsHour's own reporting. Yamiche Alcindor shares the story of another group of young immigrant recruits in limbo.

The MAVNI program was closed in 2016, the pause button was pushed on allowing DACA recipients to enlist at the end of 2014. Those people being discharged already knew they were in a state of limbo over their contracts, it shouldn't have to be announced to the world. And I doubt it would have been news worthy if they had decided to allow them to remain enlisted.
