Hi everyone,

Just wanted to say how awesome it is to have this forum. I've definitely been keeping up with the posts and benefited from the shared information while filling out my petition.....

You should visit and become familiar with all the information that is used in the next stage.  Also, review the information in the bottom half of this post. I have information to share but I'm not about to hunt down your embassy information.

Any updates of July 2018 Applicants? Have you received your NOA2?

Can you please complete your profile. Many of our answers are predicated on the information you supply in your profile. When we look at the left column and can't determine your timeline or your Embassy it's hard for us to give you a factual answer. If you look at the profile of others here, they have a flag for their country, so it makes it easy for us to reply as we can quickly determine your Embassy. Our answers will sometimes be tailored to a specific Embassy hence the reason for you to complete your profile.

So, if you could help yourself out and complete your profile that sure would help us out when we want to reply to your question with factual information.

Go to the top right of this page select your name (it's on the upper right-hand corner)>my profile>[below your picture on the right column] edit my profile. Scroll to the bottom and fill in "Immigration Info". There now we can better serve you.

Thanks

The PSA in the Philippines is notorious for misspellings and missing information on birth certificates. You should look over your BC to make sure everything is correct as well as your passport. Now is the time to get that corrected. You might want to get a copy of your NBI to see if there are any problems with it. Again, now is a better time to get it corrected if you find something wrong. Be sure to use all your AKA's when they do the search. Make sure your passport doesn't expire any time before a year from now as this is a long process and you could be running around getting a new one at the last minute. So get it renewed if it is expiring in 2019.

Also, there is a sub-forum for the Philippines here on VJ that you should be a part of. It's a good place to read what others are experiencing which will only prepare you for your interview.

NOA1: July 16th

I received an RFE dated January 10th. It was a letter asking me to answer yes or no to a question about my criminal background, arrests, etc (which my answer is no), and to sign, print, and send back the letter.

Is it common to receive such an RFE? The letter didn't request any additional documentation proof of anything else regarding our relationship. Also, I would have thought such an RFE would have been sent earlier in the process since we have been waiting for the NOA2 for 6 months. I thought a background check was part of that long wait.

This seems to cause such an unnecessary delay for us 😞

Do you have a copy of your 129F? Did you answer all question with a "No" in Part 3, Criminal background,  starting on page 8? Make sure you didn't miss any checkboxes.

This one specifically

Thank you Shiran. Yes I do have a copy and I did check the boxes. There must be some oversight.
