Morning July filers! Just curious if anyone has gotten a NVC case id or if their application has even been received at NVC? My USCIS tracker has never updated but I got eh NOA2 in the mail. I called NVC but case isn't there yet - admittedly, I probably called too early. Just anxious I suppose. :)

Good luck to everyone!!!

Many here have gotten a NVC case number. You may be a little early. Give it 3-4 weeks for your case to get from USCIS to NVC then begin calling.

There is a lot of good information over in the thread for December NOA2-NVC that would have answered that question. Maybe move over there and get caught up on the discussion where you are now.

Awesome thank you. Just have to get my police certificate but am a little confused by it. On the USCIS site it says as of September the police certificate needs to be requested under the “privacy act” And is fingerprint based. Does this mean I need to get fingerprints done? And even if not would it hurt to just get them done just in case ?

Please ignore this duplicate reply from me.

@Greenbaum, really appreciate that. Have no idea what I would hve done without sites like this & people like you. I’m sorry but hve another question. I remember providing my income information for my ex husband to sponsor his father in 2011. But his father passed away in 2014  but in the I-134 form when they ask if I hve filed affidavit of support for anyone before should I mention this ? I was not the primary sponsor but my income information was used then

I'm not familiar with that portion of the PC. I would recommend that you work your way over to the Canadian sub-forum and ask the question there.

Go to the blue ribbon at the top of the page, select forums, and scroll 3/4 the way down the page and select what closely matches either country or region.

Yes list it but with the caveat that he is deceased thus releasing you from any obligations.

I would get your police certificate(s) now, since it is good for a year. You remember you will need it for every country you lived in for more than 6 months besides US.

9 FAM 41.81 N6.2 Validity of a K-1 Petition

(CT:VISA-2165; 08-21-2014)

An approved K-1 visa petition is valid for a period of four months from the date of USCIS action and may be revalidated by the consular officer any number of times for additional periods of four months from the date of revalidation, provided the officer concludes that the petitioner and the beneficiary remain legally free to marry and continue to intend to marry each other within 90 days after the beneficiary's admission into the United States.

In other words it can be extended by the Embassy with a valid reason. Contact your embassy if and when you need an extension.

alright i shall be waiting the transfer from NVC to Embassy first. Anyway i have online applied COC from my home country (Malaysia) and the website said it takes 2 months max. guess i will be just waiting and enjoy my vacation first :) Thanks @Greenbaum

right after i get the COC i need translation (malay > english) 😂 and if not mistaken i need the certificate of no marriage (single certificate) to bring along w me to enter US. is this certificate needed to get married in US? (since K1 only valid for 90 days once entered)

thank you.  They updated the new website.  I was checking 6-7 times yesterday and decided to give up for the rest of the week.  Checked my email this morning, lo and behold got an email from USCIS saying they took action on the case.  Was expecting a RFE but turns out to be an approval.

I'm not sure exactly how their system works but the receipt for the email was 3AM.  I doubted anyone was working 3AM so I'm guessing these emails/approval happens with a nightly update to the system. Noticed you are also 7/25, good luck!
