Received the NOA 2 approval hardcopy on 14th December.

NOA 1: 09 Jul 2018

NOA 2: 12 Dec 2018

Consulate: Qatar

The USCIS has forwarded the approved petition to NVC.

Does anyone know the K1 Visa process at US embassy in Qatar?

I have nothing on Qatar, but I can send you to consulate reviews here https://www.visajourney.com/reviews/index.php?cnty=Qatar. I suggest using the search function on the top right hand corner of this page where it will search VJ for your terms. I would start by using just your country. If you get a packet 3 letter from your embassy please share it with me so I can use it for others. Just PM me on VJ with a scanned PDF file and I'll take it from there. Thanks.

Use these tools to search for others from your country and maybe they have the P3 letter and can help you.

Use the tools here in VJ to answer "when I am going to get etc. etc." question. Near your picture, there is a link to your timeline. Select it and once you're on the next page near your picture you will see "follow similar timelines" and it will populate 12 other couples who are near your dates. Scroll down and you will see a "spreadsheet" style page showing all the variables for measurement for when others from your Embassy are getting the same notice of approval or action.  Try it. It really works!

Many of our answers are predicated on the information you supply in your profile. When we look at the left column and can't determine your timeline or your Embassy it's hard for us to give you a factual answer. If you look at the profile of others here, they have a flag for their country, so it makes it easy for us to reply as we can quickly determine your Embassy. Our answers will sometimes be tailored to a specific Embassy hence the reason for you to complete your profile.

So, if you could help yourself out and complete your profile that sure would help us out when we want to reply to your question with factual information.

Go to the top right of this page select your name (it's on the upper right-hand corner)>my profile>[below your picture on the right column] edit my profile. Scroll to the bottom and fill in "Immigration Info". There now we can better serve you.

Thanks

Impending Government Shutdown Will Affect USCIS?

Without making this a political posting, I was reading the article below and it occurred to me that if the government were to shut down for a week or so, it would probably also put a halt to most of the approvals, processing at NVC, and embassy scheduling. Argghh....

Hi emekus94 thanks for your helpful info. Since you dealt with the same consulate as i will; was your embassy letter (Packet3) sent to  the beneficiary in Nigeria through email or postal snail mail?

Congrats to every one that got approved!!!  so happy to see progress :)

We emailed the embassy and they replied with the packet 3 attached.

FYI- nigeria doesn't give a packet on its own since it's the same thing you see online.

If you want to contact the embassy directly, then you can.

Hi Greenbaum,

Thanks for writing. I am already doing things that u mentioned in ur reply. I have already written to members who has or had US embassy of Qatar as their consulate. Some ppl replied while some are inactive. There have not been too many applications from Qatar so the information is limited. At the moment according to VJ there are only two applications for K1 and are running almost parallel.

I will definitely share information and my experience with u so that it can be benefit the future applicants. Thanks again. I donno if u officially work for VJ but you are doing a great job by helping ppl out here. 🙂👍🙏

Keep up the good work.

Cheers,

Sam

Both of those conditions are absolutely wrong. Does it happen to a small segment of the visa population, YES. Does it happen often, NO.

Hearing from NVC is about 45 days. Your mileage may vary.

This may be silly...but is it 45 business days? Thanks so much for all your guidance.

No, Visa Money pays their salaries, so they are unaffected by a Gov Shutdown.

Not true. USCIS and Embassies are funded by the fees they collect during your process. Hence they are not affected by a government shut down as your fees are enough to keep them operating. Thanks for the link.
