You can file this https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/us-visas/visa-information-resources/ask-nvc.html and put in your e-mail address, so they will notify you once NVC has case number, at which point you should be able to your DS-160. How old are your children? They will need letter from their Father about him agreeing with them leaving (assuming Father is not your fiancee)

Just put "Our petition 129F has been approved by USCIS. Please notify me of the status of my case, and my NVC case number. E-mail address  xxxxx@yyy.com. Thank you."

Be sure to use your full name, date of birth and USCIS receipt number from either the NOA1 or NOA2 and your email address. If you would like to add your petitioner's email the repeat the same for him. 

 

Whatever documents you need for the interview the kids will need the same. Bring original documents with a copy of each. The CO will want to see the Original, but you can ask for the CO to return your Original by providing a copy to them.

Wet signatures are no longer required for I-134 for your Nigeria interview. You are able to send in scanned documents. I signed, scanned and emailed mine to my fiancé to print and it was accepted.

 

Scheduling the interview can take 1 to 3 months. Once you pay the $265 visa fee at GTB Bank, you can go online to schedule an appointment at www.ustraveldocs.com You can get the forms online at http://nigeria.usembassy.gov/immigrant_visa_forms.html No need to go to the consulate to pick up forms. Download forms if unexpired or get current versions of same forms. Email LagosIV@state.gov for your interview date.

About the date of NOA1. So does it all mean that I should trust only hard copies of the notifications received by regular mail? I trust the paper document more then I trust their websites. I have seen so many different answers on the "old" vs the "new" that do not trust their information.

And also if we don't receive any response from USCIS during January we can inquire about our case, right? Once you are out of the "normal" processing time for your case then you can contact USCIS. Here is the "advertised" processing times. https://egov.uscis.gov/processing-times/more-info

Once you move to "Received" you can send your Packet 3 to the Embassy and they will schedule the interview.  The BKK interviews seem to be scheduled for 2 weeks after they receive your Packet 3.  (The embassy selects the date and time for you, but you can contact them if you need to reschedule).   You will need to complete the medical before the interview and it takes a day or 2 for the results of the medical to become available.

When should we be expecting to hear from NVC? Just received our approval digitally on Dec 14 , still waiting on physical NOA2 receipt in the mail. I’ve heard mixed things about NVC where sometimes it can take months for them to receive it and it is also common for them to ‘misplace’ cases altogether. Does anyone if this is true?

Both of those conditions are absolutely wrong. Does it happen to a small segment of the visa population, YES. Does it happen often, NO.

 

Hearing from NVC is about 45 days. Your mileage may vary.
