thank you for sharing this, but on the I-134 form it says expires 11/30/2018

Is it valid to use?

We have seen that sometimes they will renew a form that expires and we have seen it continue to be used until such time as a new form is release. In any event, they will most likely use the start date of the new rendition of that form and they will tell you when they will discontinue a form. All updates to forms can be tracked here: https://www.uscis.gov/forms-updates  If you see a form that will soon expire and it may expire after it's intended use (Embassy interview) then it's best to wait till you are closer to your interview.

All previous editions are accepted anyway. The OMB (Office of Management and Budget) expiration date only matters internally for the USCIS. That expiration date has nothing to do with whether or not it will be acceptable for you to use. The edition date is what matters. The accepted edition dates for the forms are listed on the site where the forms can be found and downloaded. The I-134 states this. > https://www.uscis.gov/i-134

Wow!!! I just don't understand the point of having these two websites. 🙄

There isn't a point. What should have happened is the "old" site should have been shut down and that would leave the "new" site for all to access. It's stupid but do as they please they leave it up and like sheep being herded, VJ'rs are using both though it is not necessary. But they think it is because everyone else is doing it. :(

I assume that it is OK to use the current version that is available on USCIS website till it is updated with the latest version.  Probably will have to continually check the website till the beneficiary's interview date. If an updated version is made available before the interview date, then it would be a matter of copying over all the info over to the updated version.  Copy of the I-134 will be part of the packet that the beneficiary takes to the interview. Then it would be a matter of logistics of sending it to the beneficiary.

If anyone with more insight would like to chime in, please feel free to do so. It would be greatly appreciated.

See my earlier post about two above this one for an insightful reply.

I do not believe this statement is accurate as it is not the matter of people merely using both, but they also update both (or neither??) and they updates to them are not synced. I mean, yes, technically if were still living in last century you wouldn't use either, and just wait for the paper post show up at your address, but seeing how we not in the last century thankfully, people want to know, and want to know as soon as electronically possible and not be subject to whims of the weather, delayed airplanes, and lost mail. People are not sheep, they are following what is actually happening, and what is happening is USCIS inconsistently and unpredictably updating both sites. My theory it depends entirely on whatever adjudicator that has the case, and what they feel like doing on a particular day but that purely a speculation on my part.

You raise a good point... it seems people often dont follow a set process and so everyone is doing whatever the heck they want for each applicant (in regards to notification). It's a sign of poor leadership and lack of oversight. We tye People should let our elected representatives know so that USCIS can be held accountable to the People. I've worked in local government and these kinds of things would've ended up being discussed in local newspaper.

Eh. A non-trivial number of people here still say they saw an update first on the "old" site (or one of the apps, which is the same thing), or the "new" site never updated for them at all.

While knowing your NOA2 date before the letter gets there doesn't really help you (it's extremely unlikely you'll get an NVC # before a paper NOA2, and you can't really doing anything else at least until then), it's the first sign of progress on your case after five months or more so of course people want to know ASAP.

I stand by my statement and I for one, not knowing the person working on my record. who I don't know from Adam, I wouldn't be throwing aspersions willy nilly that they are lazy. The redundancy of both sites leaves both to be inaccurate at best. It's not a good use of resources to have two different "products" not producing the same outcome that is desired, unless of course there is an improvement that will reveal itself to the user and there hasn't been anything to that point.

Both web-sites are either not updating at all, or one is and the other is not and vise versa. From the human emotional side I see your point but it goes back to USCIS provides you a "ball park" figure to when you can expect your case to be adjudicated. It's been close to accurate but people still will not understand the process and continue to voice from their actions and postings they want it now. That just is not how it works. I only point out that if you set your sights to high then your disappointment has a longer down fall. That's reality and not fantasy. Of course your mileage may vary.

Hi all, woke up to an email from USCIS that our case status had changed. Logged into the new site and it shows approved. The old site and apps are still only show received (as many on here have experienced). I'm honestly in shock we were approved so quickly, still not sure I'll fully believe it until we get the letter in the mail!

NOA1 July 25

NOA2 December 14

That's amazing, my NOA1 was also July 25.  Now you got me all hyped up and CONGRATS!
