Congratulations!! 5 months on the dot must've been great paperwork! :)

I wondered if they "front-loaded" their application or just sent in the basic requirements?

The more I think about it the more I believe that front-loading is a remedy against RFEs and a help at the interview but has absolutely nothing to do with processing speed. Which will only depend on adjudicator themselves, their overall workload and, probably, the most time consuming part, the background checks. If you have a simple case not involving ex's, your names are far from common and you have a very simple background, you probably will pass your checks much faster.

Front-loading is only an opinion which never has been proven. Most who do a version of just what is asked are getting approvals at about the same speed as front loaders. There are many factors of which you name a few being background checks and commons names that can slow the process down for some.

Being divorced is not a crime. But again, if an applicant has never been married, has a unique name, has never had a questionable training and/or job, there is more chance that such person will pass their checks quicker without clicking somewhere. There are 'red flags' for the embassy which the USCIS doesn't care for, like age, language, religious difference etc, and things that may require additional attention from USCIS to protect public security.

It does and it doesn't. It does have affect because it is part of the petitioner's or beneficiary's history. It doesn't because there are thousands of others who have a divorce and there case will get an approval not withstanding the divorce vs non-divorce argument.

I checked the casetracker app this morning..refreshed..and...I WAS APPROVED TODAY!!! :content: NOA1 was July 16, NOA2 December 13.

I'm shocked it was so early, VJ estimated January 11, a whole month later, and so did I! I have a very common name in US/Canada, and our paperwork was very organized, with a huge amount of "extra proof" like emails, receipts, photo collages.

Best wishes to everyone still waiting!!  \(• ◡ •)/

Congratulations!!... 😊

Seems like sometimes letters show up, sometimes emails, and sometimes just checking digitally and it appears.

You guys keep mentioning the 'app' - is this the site you're checking? https://egov.uscis.gov/casestatus/landing.do

NOA1 July 2nd so with all these June people getting theirs and sometime July... I'm getting excited and hoping for good news soon as we get close to 180 days.

In my opinion, besides the standard background verification and other checks that have to be made which takes time, it is also dependent on the adjudicator. We submitted the basic paperwork and requirements.  I had braced myself for two RFEs based on what I had read at other threads. First, was regarding the letter of intent to marry. We had both signed a single letter, I have seen RFEs requesting a separate letter from the beneficiary. Second, was evidence of meeting. We submitted copies of airline tickets, copy of tourist visa approval, a dozen photos with dates and brief description written on the back, and a copy of a notarized letter from a friend attesting that we had met.  I have seen RFEs requesting evidence of continuing relationship. We were fortunate and did not get any RFEs.

Like Sara said, there is an iphone (probably android too?) app called "Case Tracker for USCIS" by Stephen Aldous, which appears to get its information from the .gov website you linked, because both updated at the same time.

We are not aware of any letter yet, I will let you all know when my fiance receives the paper copy.

All apps you see at app store be it itelephone or android get their information from same place to the best of my knowledge. And that the site you linked. https://egov.uscis.gov/casestatus/landing.do
