@Greenbaum, I was thinking of booking marriage venue so that I would hve proof to show at his interview. But July 20th being my NOA1 if we get approved by January , not sure booking date somewhere in May would be almost right time. I am having so difficulty finding how to post at indian embassy forum , so thought of asking you as u seem very informative. Do I schedule interview date at Mumbai embassy or do they schedule it. ? If you could help me figure out how to post this in Indian forum that would be wonderful. TIA

It's not wise to make marriage or travel plans that require non-refundable deposits until the beneficiary actually has his or her visa in hand.

Your case could take unexpectedly long to process for any number of reasons (some of which have nothing to do with you or your fiance(e)).

Even after your fiance(e)'s interview, your case could be in administrative processing for an unexpectedly long time.

There could be a mistake on your fiance(e)'s visa.

The sealed envelope could be damaged and require re-sealing.

In most consulates, saying "we'll get legally married within 90 days and have a ceremony later; we haven't planned anything because scheduling was too uncertain" is fine; if Mumbai requires something more concrete, I guess I'd ask other couples with an Indian beneficiary what they did.

Yes there is some things you need to do.

1. Change your address using https://www.uscis.gov/addresschange

2. Then when you get your NOA2 approved then send NVC a request to change Embassies.

If you wish to have your immigrant/fiancée visa file transferred from one Embassy to another U.S. Embassy/Consulate, please contact the appropriate U.S. Embassy/Consulate directly in the country where you wish to apply and follow their instructions for case transfer. Please click here for the full list of all U.S. Embassies and Consulates overseas.

The old Embassy will need to receive a formal file transfer request from that U.S. Embassy/Consulate in the country where you wish to apply. Upon receipt of this request, they will immediately forward the file for the New Embassy to process.

Once you contact your New Embassy you then can discuss the transfer of your fee. Be sure to have your payment receipt available.

Thanks! The thing is that I don´t need to change embassies since I requested Argentina on the form. My concern is that, since my physical address is Italy on the form, they´re going to send my case to Italya in spite of having requested Argentina and my mailing address being also Argentina

Can't say for sure but it's known that the address dictates the Embassy location. When you call NVC for your case number then this would be a good question to ask the Tier 2 agent.

Anyone else gets their hopes extremely high up when a notification from the Case Tracker app comes up?

But then you check it and it's maintenance or a thanksgiving message...

Btw, happy thanksgiving to all! I'm thankful for my fianceé, my job and all the opportunities in life that led me to meet her.
