Just got home after a 12 hour day in 111 Degree heat, and was messing around on the internet. I usually check every Monday morning on the new USCIS website for my case status, but for some reason I decided I would check today, figured I would finish off the day with some more bad news as the day couldn't get any worse. Logged into the new Site and got this message in my case status.

 

July 3, 2018

We approved your case

Read the notice we mailed you for more information

If you do not receive your notice by August 02, 2018, send us a case inquiry and select that you did not receive your notice by mail.

If your mailing address changes, update your address with us.

Current as of today at 5:15 p.m.

 

Does this mean I have my NOA2 on the way to my house. I just want to verify before I crack open this Ice cold beer ( Special Import I have been saving for this moment). Nothing has changed on the old website but this has got me about ready to do back flips. Now, If this news is as good as I believe, do I use this date above to update my timeline, or do I wait til I actually receive the NOA2 in the mail. I filed just before Christmas 12/20/2017, so this is good news, looks like they might be processing a little faster. I didn't expect it til the end of July. Thanks for everyone on here that is going thru the same torture. But, this is still the beginning, but now I am feeling better. It's funny that just last night my fiancee was really down in the dumps wondering if it ever is going to happen. She will be waking up soon, so I am hoping I can tell her the good news. The number of man hours I spent putting this packet together is probably in the Hundreds, and the guides on here are 95% responsible for this approval. Thanks VJ!!!! and all the other VJ'ers!!!!!!!

In summary, it took 13 months for approval of the CR-1.  It took 44 months for approval of the I-751.  It took 4 months for approval of the N-400.   It took 172 days from N-400 application to Oath Ceremony.   It took 6 weeks for Passport, then 7 additional weeks for return of wife's Naturalization Certificate..

So, do you think I should update my timeline with the July 3rd, 2018 approval, or wait until physical NOA2 is in hand? I mean, this could be a computer glitch( Please No!)

I would update it for Jul 3rd...........in fact, I was just checking your timeline to see how many days from NAO1 to approval.

When you checked for your approval online , did you go to the new USCIS website and entered your  NOA1 case study number and NOA2 appeared which stated your NOA2 was Approved.?

I registered at the new website about 4 months ago. You create a profile with your NOA1 number, and it will save it to your profile. I guess you can track multiple cases if you want. You know you are using the new site because it always does a secondary verification when you log in. I always have it text me an access code. So after you get registered and your profile set up, you don't need to enter your number from the NOA1 again. Then I was just logging in once a week starting about 3 weeks ago. And like I said, I just happen to log in on Friday instead of Monday, and saw my status had changed. I went to check the old site that I signed up for as soon as I got my NOA1 back in November, and I set up email and text notifications but have never heard anything from the old website. Only thing I ever saw on there was we received your petition on 12/20/2017. And on the new website it says they received my petition on 12/26/2017. So who knows why the new site has a different date, but I know a few other people that said the received date is different on each site. But I would rely on the new site, not the old because I never have seen that update even once.
