Didn't that all occur during the previous administration? 

 

Putin is a thug and quite frankly Russia is still suffering from the effects of Communism/Socialism.  Heck, I just returned from there after visiting family and the city where we visit sucks from an urban planning perspective.  To my knowledge, all the past presidents have campaigned on increasing favorable ties with Russia, Bush and Obama were in no ways tough on Russia.  I still fail to see how all this over the top reaction to a silly press conference indicates the US is now a Russian puppet state.  Didn't Trump and his team strengthen NATO just before the Putin meeting?

 

In my opinion, if more Republicans are reacting to Trump's criticism of the investigation it has more to do with the unsubstantiated collusion narrative that has all but been put away with the Rosenstein announcement.

 

I just wonder where all the outrage was when Ted Kennedy actively sought Soviet interference back in the '80's to try and defeat Reagan.

  Out of necessity, he did. However Roosevelt didn't put his faith in Stalin over our own intelligence agencies and allies.

Western Europe like France, Germany, Italy I am pretty sure they were not allies of the US in 1941, if you mean dying beside us I assume you meant as they were being killed by our troops

Sure, and Trump, Obama, Bush, Clinton, Bush, Reagan etc., all met with Soviet/Russian leaders out of necessity.  I still am not convinced Trump believes Putin over the US intelligence agencies and a silly press conference does not really prove that.

  His actions have never shown anything to contradict that in any way either.

Clearly he does, he's been on Putin's side on this matter since he got elected. He's in Putin's pocket.

 

What makes it scary is he met with him alone for two hours. You'd be pretty much guarantee Putin was recording that meeting to use as possible leverage against Trump and the USA.
