I made an i130 petition in February, beneficiaries passport expired in April.

What do I do?

Send them a photocopy of the new one immediately?

Also, my laptop hard drive broke and I lost all the documents on my laptop including the filled in i130 and i130a, cover letter and also my affidavit of support.

Will this be a problem?? I hope not..

I would not send them anything at this time. If you get an RFE (return for evidence) notice then you can reply to it. Otherwise, you will bring the new passport to the interview.

I will take a guess that the documents on your laptop are you records since you already filed your petition. If that is the case, it should not be a problem, you can always fill out another I-130 and I-130A the same as the ones you submitted on February. You can have another affidavit or support made as well. I am assuming all this for your record keeping?? It is a good practice that you print one copy and keep it with you.

Any other documents you receive from USCIS, NVC or Embassy should be kept. You will need them in the future.

The affidavit of support should not have been part of the initial petition package.  It won't hurt that it was, but a current one will be submitted to the National Visa Center a few weeks after your petition is approved.

Next computer needs to be backed up. ;)
