Is it possible to upload supporting documents later, say a month or so down the road?

Our n400 window opened a few days ago.. the online n400 is complete but we're waiting on a couple of documents. Can we submit the n400 and the required docs for the 3-year marriage to USC now, and submit supplemental evidence later?

I-751 journey

10/16/2017.......... ROC package mailed

10/18/2017.......... I-751 package received VSC

10/19/2017.......... I-797 NOA date

10/30/2017.......... Notice received in mail

10/30/2017.......... Check cashed

11/02/2017.......... Conditional GC expired

11/22/2017.......... Biometrics completed

Yep, I added a couple of extra files a few days after I’d already submitted the actual application, and I still have the ability to do so now.

Cool

Are tax transcripts required or supplemental? We have 2 years' tax transcripts but missing a year and will take a few days to sort it out.

I believe they were in the required section, as far as I can remember.

If you’ve completed the actual form you should be able to see the relevant section and whether it is or is not required.

BTW if you’ve actually filed all of your taxes you should be able to get the transcripts online instantly!

Don't pay much attention to the Estimated completion time. It's a fairly arbitrary number. That being said, your ESD is highly dependent on your USCIS field office? Which city are you applying from?

Thanks ,although my USCIS office is in Lewisville tx or Dallas tx  ........any idea when they process end so I can keep up with studying .... Thanks again

We're still a tad confused if we could submit the n400 without the transcripts.

We filed the 2017 return recently (Efiled; refund due) and still waiting for the transcript to be generated on theirs website. We have the 2015/2016 transcripts.

I would say wait for the transcript.  I think they were in a separate section to the general optional upload section.

You could always try clicking ‘next’ once you’ve uploaded 2015 & 2016, and see what message pops up... You’ll be able to go back to that page either way.

Another one that filled and paid online the N-400. Let's hope the process to be fast and have all the documents succesfully received. Quick question, when they ask for the tax returns, i've submitted the last 3 but only the first 2 pages where is says 'Individual Income Tax Return', will that be enough?

Good luck to everyone!

I think they would want either the full IRS-certified tax return OR the transcripts

For your first question, the online form states that it doesn't count travel days, so 12 days would really count as 10.

For question #2 you have to reside at your current address for three months prior to applying.

For your third question, as long as you have a valid GC, or expired GC with extension letter, or I-551 stamp in your passport so should be able to travel without any issues.

Hope that helps.

I will call tomorrow to the IRS and ask for a Tax Transcript just in case they ask me for one.

Do you know if they send checklist like on the process like when you're trying to get the visa? I'm a little bit traumatized of receiving one of them, i'd like to evade them. I have to say that when you are filling the N-400 online, they ask for the Tax Forms so you can show documents referring to you and your spouse, but also they asked for 'bank accounts, leases, mortgages, or birth certificates of children' and we attached also the birth certificate of our daughter, so i hope they don't ask me for more documents but just in case, i'm going to be ready with my IRS Tax Transcript to have it with me on the interview, you never know.

There's also a section where it says that you can attach ANY document you think it may work as a proof and we attached 5 different pictures from these last 3 years, let's see if it works. 😋

Yikes - never use the words "evade" and "tax" too close together if you can help it!

No need to be traumatized. Tax transcripts are easily and nearly instantly downloadable, and it's just a copy of what you've already submitted.

You're right, better don't use those works together!

I've just called the IRS and confirmed that the 3 tax transcripts for the last 3 years will be send between 5 to 10 days! I'll upload them to my case as soon as i receive them.

One more question, on the case status it shows an estimated completion time (probably not accurate) for September, 2019, around 13 months, but right below it also says 'Estimated Wait Time: 2 months', what are the difference between these two estimated dates?
