I was just wondering how long AP is taking these days once your visa has been approved at the interview? And if the date has been updated on your CEAC, does that mean that they’re working on your case again?

it could take week, month or 3 months it depends

Alex's interview was the 27th and they were waiting on medical files. That day they updated to Administrative Processing.

On the following Monday (2nd)

Tuesday it went to Administrative Processing (Nonimmigrant Visa)

Yesterday nothing because the 4th

Today it went to Issued!

If you we already went to your interview and got approved with no other requests for documents or Medical is still pending...Then your status should changed from AP to something else, maybe Issued. Sometimes you will see the status switch back and forth from AP to issued and back to AP. All this is normal.

If you were approved, pending no other information or documents, it shouldn't take long. My husband had his interview on 2/22, and was all but approved pending receipt of his medical documents from the doctor. Those were received the following week and he received his visa in the mail on the 5th of March.

If I remember correctly, the case status did not change in the system until the night before he ended up getting his visa in the mail, at which time it switched to "Issued".

Håll ut, y'all.

Up next.... Removal of Conditions!

As others noted, if there's no issues then it shouldn't take long (within a week...maybe 2 at most normally). If an issue pops up in final processing, it could take much longer. That's not likely, but has happened (such as a final background check discovering something or being delayed).

In the UK it can be a few hours to 1 or 2 days. Date changes mean they are working on it...processing it administratively. It will change from Immigrant to non-immigrant  right before issued. If your status has been AP two weeks, there is some other issue they are checking. How long?

Well Knightsbridge cocked up with my medical results so they didn’t get sent until the 3rd 🙄🙄🙄 so am I looking at another week should things go ok?

So there's a reason. Not a bad thing then. It means they are shuffling papers doing admin things or waiting on something before they can finish. And they were closed the 4th so an extra day of delay built in.

Thanks guys. The date on my case has been updated today already so maybe they’re working on it

Good,  it means someone touched your file and added or updated something to it.
