Hello everyone,

i just want to know something about 221g white letter which I got during my interview. I had applied for k1 visa on 15th June 2018 during my interview officer was not satisfied and gave me the 221g, asked me to submit additional documents such as reservation with court, printing invitations card, all vendors information, reservation with hall, marriage outfits receipts and rings bills etc without having visa in hand we spend a lot of money on this to do arrangements in usa.

we have already submitted all this documents at embassy on 26th June 2018 and now waiting for the results my case is under administration processing.

i hope after doing this arrangements in usa they will approve my case otherwise we have to face huge loss if something went wrong.

we are really scared and nervous finger crossed

have anyone come across with such cases

thank you In advance

The type of evidence the CO wants to see is interesting, to say the least, considering many do not arrange/pay for formal services until the actual visa is approved.  And how would one have invitation cards printed and sent unless an actual wedding date was chosen...again normally based on AFTER a K-1 is actually approved.

Makes me curious as to what sort of questions were asked during the interview, and what sort of responses you gave?  Sounds like the CO does not believe this to be a bonafide relationship...  Is this an arranged marriage?

Almost seems the CO didn't believe in your case and gave some pretty extraordinary things to accomplish. Like above, most people don't put out a lot of money before getting the visa in hand because of this reason. Always suggested here to never pay anything unitl visa is in hand. So the CO definately asked for alot.

This  is a love marriage mostly he asked question about how we met and all, actually we met on online (social media) he said it’s look unsual for him that we met on social media and decided to get married

Correct but we had no choice rather than to listen CO. we don’t want to take any risk because he specify mentioned on 221g white slip that’s y we did arrangements in usa like reception hall booked, printed wedding cards for 31st aug 2018 etc hoping for best now

Hi,

Just to let you know that getting a 221(g) is not a denial.

Now that that's out of the way, it sounds like the officer is not convinced that the marriage is bonafide. Meeting on a Dating website does not really raise much flags once the couple can prove that they have met each other prior to getting married. However, meeting on Social media would seem a tad fishy an that is possibly why you got the 221(g) for providing additional evidence of your marriage.

Can you get affidavits from friends and/or family members to include in your evidence indicating that they know your spouse and the marriage is genuine?

We have already submitted notarized statement from both saying why we decided to marry and how we met, also we have submitted guests of list who are going to attend our wedding ceremony in USA with their phone number, addresses and relationship to us

Ok, that's great!

Also, you are put into Administrative Processing for 12mths from the date the 221(g) was issued....unless the actual 221(g) letter/slip states otherwise.

Wow that’s was super fast, how can you arrange all the documents in just 3 days, I mean did you do all the marriage arrangements in usa such as court date, printingcare, reception hall, vendors information, marriages outfits.

mine is on 31st August and reception is on 16 September 2018

If your status is showing ready that’s mean is good sign  after ready it will change to issue within 3 days
