Our appointment was for 10:30 and we arrived 30 minutes early. At about 11:25, our interviewer called us and took us to a second (empty) lobby across the hall, where we waited for 10 more minutes until he came and brought us into his office.

It was pretty quick and painless (about 10 minutes). The interviewer didn't even look at most of my evidence. I gave him a copy of our joint bank statement, joint credit card statement, Blue Cross cards and my husbands 2006 W-2 (my husband explained that he didn't keep a copy of the tax return we recently filed for last year and the Interviewer said that was ok).

I started to offer more evidence, but he said he had enough. He didn't even ask to see any identification, passport or my EAD card.

At the end of the interview, he said, "You're Canadian, it's pretty obvious you didn't get married for a green card". He told us that he intended to approve my application, but that his supervisor had to review the evidence I had submitted about a previous arrest first. He was a bit difficult to understand due to a strong accent, but he appeared to offer to hold our application until October (our 2nd anniversary) so that we could get a 10 year green card. I told him I'd rather not wait and he explained that we'd get a conditional card and need to lift conditions later. He indicated that we should receive the Green Card in about 2 weeks.

All in all it was a great experience!

Thank you everyone. :) I had a bad moment when they shifted us over to the empty lobby (thought that they might really grill people there) and was a bit worried that maybe we didn't have enough evidence, but it was a lot faster then I could have imagined and the interviewer was super nice.

congrats,

we had ours today.

a total of 5 minutes, asked for lease agreement, joint sponsor's employer letter, bank statement and that's it, she didn't ask us where or when we met or when we got married. our interview lasted 5 minutes and 4 out of those 5 minutes she talked about her identity being stolen and how her lawyer does not return her calls.

did not ask for pictures or anything. she said we are approved, we are NOT in namecheck and that i should receive the letter in about a week or so.

Congrats...ours took about an hour!!! But same result :dance:
