My fiancé made a mistake on my date of birth when he filled the K1 petition form.my date of birth is 11th july 1981 but he filled 11th July 1982.he sent a letter with copies of my birth certificate and international passport to that effect but the NVC replied saying

"As the file is no longer at the NVC, we are unable to honor your request to change the date of birth. Please contact the assigned US Embassy or Consulate General for further information"

He had also sent a mail to the US embassy in my country (nigeria).

I hope this mistake will not affect my chances of getting the visa

It reflects poorly on USCIS and NVC that they didn't catch that. I hope the Embassy helps you.  Ask if the information in the system is correct, as there's a chance the DOB was input from the passport copy or birth certificate.   When my husband's visa was issued, they used his passport info over the info I put on the form.  His country they use two last names.  He wanted to use just the family name on his documents and that's how I completed the forms, but they used the passport info.

Thanks, the uscis said they have made the correction in their system, that my fiancé should contact the NVC for same correction because the file had already been transfered to NVC before the he sent the letter.
