Do i need new medical for AOS interview?

Hello,

I need an advice. I just got the AOS interview notice in the mail yesterday. The notice lists items to bring with you, and has this: "A completed medical Form I-693 and vaccination supplement in a sealed envelope (unless already submitted)."

My medical was done on May 8, 2017 overseas, which I brought with me on a sealed envelope for my K1-entry. And I included the DS-3025 (Vaccination Documentation Worksheet) in the AOS packet, not an I-693. I didn't receive an RFE. I filed my AOS Sept 22, 2017. Interview is on Aug 1, 2018. Do I need a new medical to bring at the interview? I'm so confused if mine was already considered expired. Thank you so much in advance!

Should be fine. The medical needed to be valid (within 12 months) for the AOS packet. You supplied it. That's all that was needed. it even says "A completed medical Form I-693 and vaccination supplement in a sealed envelope (unless already submitted)"  You submitted it with the AOS packet. You're fine.

Thank you! I appreciate it a lot! :)

Omg this is great cause I was confused over the same thing on the medical. We got our letter Monday for an interview 7.31.2018. very excited and nervous at the same time. Its  a very long time coming.  Funny thing our status hasn't changed at all. its terrible to be looking at this website daily only to have the documents arrive and the status stay the same.

On Positive note the interview is weeks away.

Are you getting a new medical before the interview?  Did the interview letter mention anything regarding a medical or immunizations?  Thanks. And good luck at your interview.

What did you decide to do?  Are you going to get a new medical or simply bring another copy of your DS-3025 to the interview?  Good luck at your interview.

Hi Diane

We got a new medical done and shots since the one my husband did in Cuba expired already. Over here they require you to do the shots prior to getting a medical.

thanks our interview is this coming Tuesday already and getting the paperwork organized.

Thank you! I am just going to bring another copy of DS-3025 to my interview on Wednesday. If they recommend me to do another medical, then I will do that after the interview and wait for months again to get approved. I mean, I didn't want to spend money on medical just yet. It's a risk I'm willing to take. I will definitely update you. Good luck! :)

I-693 is totally different from DS-3025. I-693 is the transcribed form prepared by the designated civil surgeon based on your medical exam.  If you get the i-693 within the 1year validity of your medical exam, they will just transcribe your results. Otherwise, you need to do the medical exam again.

https://www.uscis.gov/i-693

This was one of the things we made sure not to forget when filed for AOS, because I really don’t want to pay and do the medical exam all over again.

But you know what, some people are lucky and get away with just DS-3205. Goodluck!

That’s what we are doing , too. Since we already submitted the medical upon entry at POE, we will not do another medical unless specifically asked at the interview. We are taking a copy of the medical and the immunization form with us to the interview. Good luck to you as well!

Hello,

I'm in a similar position (interview at the end of Aug) and found this thread. I noticed that today was the day of your interview - I hope it went well! Did they mention anything about the medical exam?

Thanks!
