Hello,

Does anyone have any information on how long it takes Washington to process waivers after the embassy sends to them for review? Also, if the embassy sends it to Washington does that automatically mean that a favorable recommendation was given?

We are in the same position as you.

We have been told that the consular officer has given a positive recommendation and is responsive and helpful. (I only found this out two days ago.) Our Senators case worker has been assisting us since April. We were originally refused in April and later changed to AP in April. When I called two days ago, she sounded the most positive, since I have dealt with her. The case has now been elevated to their DC office and she also delivered our personal letters to the senator. This was also the first time she confirmed the information about the officer. Until now, she didn't know about his recommendation. I'm very optimistic that we will get a waiver eventually. The only issue is the timeline and all she said was that it's a very slow process, but that she is getting weekly updates from their DC office. So far, the case status has only updated when we contacted the Senate office, etc. Otherwise no updates.
