You realize a link would have sufficed, and not violated the TOS.  And would have saved a bit of server space.  But Happy Independence Day to you as well.  And lest YOU forget... this country was founded by brave people who were not afraid to fight back when confronted with tyranny.  And killed to maintain that freedom.

Not sure the TOS was violated.  Copyright?  Not sure why lecture mode is warranted. My ancestors were fighting during the struggle for American independence.

Hahahahahah:whistle:.... A private seller.... Thus you do not need to go through all that unless you want to. But it's best to scope out the seller and/or the buyer to make sure they look like they are decent.

May not be required in most states, but anyone who sells a gun without requiring it is a fool, IMO.    I wouldn’t sell a gun to my best friend or a family member without a bill of sale that includes a DL and address, signed by both parties.

So true and I wouldn't sell a gun without going through a FFL transfer. But like I said I am not the seller but the buyer so if the seller wants to sell it without doing that then fine by me.

No, you’re good.  But the seller?  Pretty silly, me thinks.

I wouldn’t do a FFL, unless it was free.  But as I said, a BOS, complete with state DL and address, plus signed, is the minimum for me.  Establishes a chain of custody in case the gun ever ends up in the wrong hands.

Also, as for buying a gun from a FFL... it’s only “registered” for a bit.  Most delete purchases after 2-3 years I think.  No central database that I am aware of.

Lest those unfamiliar with the realtionship of the 2nd Amendment which follows , and not preceeds, the foundation of this great country;, and at the risk of "spamming" this forum (non dare call it so) ; allow me to enter into the record the radically inspiring text that is the foundation of the birth of my beloved country:

On a side note, I bought 3 lowers back in April.  Now about to slowly order parts online and build me some new toys.  One will be a silenced .300 BLK.  Think it will be fun!
