Hello. Been lurking here and today I decided to sign up.

I am the beneficiary and the petition was approved last May 29. Until now, we still do not have the case number. Its been over a month of waiting.

On the other hand, my fiance seems lost interest about the whole thing and did not talk about it anymore so maybe he changed his mind about us.

I send him messages and waiting for his response. So if he changed his mind about the whole process, can we still withdraw the petition?

Thank you for your help.

Not really. The petitioner must do the withdrawl/cancellation of the petition. If it is at NVC or on it's way to the embassy, the petitioner should write to both and ask for it to be withdrawn. The beneficiary has no authority in this as they are US agencies.

I called the NVC earlier today and the representatives said they do not received it yet and no case number. I wonder what took so long.

I will let my fiance know if he will not proceed with the petition.

Thank you for your help.

I don't know you nor your fiance. But i do know this process

It can be brutal

But you both waited 6 plus months to get that approval from uscis..a little wait for your case to reach nvc is nothing.

They are backlogged most likely...

I hope you and your fiance can work through it.

It's not surprising that some folks change their mind, waiting for so long some folks grow restless. Not every relationship can handle that type of anxiety and stress, specially in the beginning stages.
