I have a question, I will be very grateful if you can help. The NVC already received our case from the USCIS, and also assigned a number. but we need to change the embassy for the interview. We sent an e-mail to the NVC, but we are not sure that the NVC will react quickly. we want to call the NVC and ask to pay attention to this letter. I'm not sure that the first level can somehow help. how to get through to a certain person who has such authority?

If your case is not on the way to the embassy yet, changing Embassy's should not cause delays. If you wish to have your immigrant/fiancée visa file transferred from one Embassy to another U.S. Embassy/Consulate, please contact the appropriate U.S. Embassy/Consulate directly in the country where you wish to apply and follow their instructions for case transfer. Please click here for the full list of all U.S. Embassies and Consulates overseas.

The old Embassy will need to receive a formal file transfer request from that U.S. Embassy/Consulate in the country where you wish to apply. Upon receipt of this request, they will immediately forward the file for the New Embassy to process.

Once you contact your New Embassy you then can discuss the transfer of your fee if you have already paid your interview fee if not just ignore this.  Be sure to have your payment receipt available if you are transferring your fee but only if it has been paid.

Remember that you need to be a legal resident in the country you want to do your medical and interview in.

Call NVC. Before you request a transfer the beneficiary must have lived in that country for at least 6 months prior to the interview.

there is a little confusing story. I am a beneficiary, and I am a citizen of Ukraine. but the last 2.5 years I lived in Russia, without changing my citizenship. Also i visited my family in Ukraine twice per year all this time. and now I plan to back to Ukraine. I think I should not have problems with the embassy of America in Ukraine, because I am a citizen of this country

If you are a citizen then yes, no problem. Since I didn't know your affiliation, I thought it was best to give you the warning for the 6 month residency requirement.

Hey everyone, how long does it take nowadays from getting a case number from NVC to the moment when NVC sends our documents to the embassy? Should we get a letter or something from NVC with our case number or other information? It’s been a week since we got our case number and case status is still “at NVC

At the moment it seems to be every two weeks. It should be sent at some point tomorrow! :)

As for the letter, I'm unsure.

looks like they send the cases out every 2 weeks now. Last time was Aug 7, next time will be Aug 21. You should make it to that batch :)

The I-134 should be prepared by the petitioner and then sent to you, the beneficiary once you have an interview date at the embassy. You will take it with you then and give it to the officer. It looks like you are waiting for your NOA2, so it will be a while yet before the petitioner needs to get the I-134 to you.
