For us it was one day between received and number assigned.

As soon as the embassy in Tokyo receives your package from the NVC, set up your interview appointment right away after filing the DS-160.  We scheduled the first available for Oct 1 and when we scheduled that was more than 7 weeks away.  Medical is next week and we are checking everyday to see if an appointment opens up sooner.

Could you let me know when you guys received your P3? Just would like to know how long it takes to arrive at home after consulate receives.

thanks for your continued help really appreciate it

question I left my fiancé my affidavit of support on aug 10 when I was visiting her I left it singed but did not date it is there a validity I want her to put a date on it when it gets closer to the interview or can I have her put the aug 10 2018 date on it thanks

That was a good move leaving the 134 with her. That does cover the ambiguous question sign and send or sign and scan and send. Good luck.

Hi all,

I've scheduled my medical and they emailed me the required documents I need to take to the appointment, one of which is ' a letter or email from the Embassy/NVC to confirm your case number', I was given my case number over the phone, I haven't an email or anything from NVC confirming that is my number.. I called NVC and they couldn't give me what I needed, she just said I have to wait until the case moves to the Embassy, and then they'll notify me, so.. I may have to cancel my medical as I can't get that confirmation which simply is - an email or any correspondence linking my name to my case number..

You will receive a case number for Mom and a case number for any children Mom will be 01 and the children 02, 03 and so forth. This is normal. Sometimes the children are approved before mom is. Just have patience once the water gets by the dam then it sorts itself out and back to a smooth flowing river.

I usually have a Packet 3 letter from your Embassy but I do not. But what I can do is list the basic items needed for the interview. When you get the P3 letter from your Embassy, could you scan a copy and attach it to a PM here on VJ. Thanks.

Most of this has to be duplicated for the K2('s).

Completed Form DS-160, Online Nonimmigrant Visa Application. You (and any eligible children applying for K-2 visas) must: (1) complete Form DS-160 and (2) print the DS-160 confirmation page to bring to your interview.

  • A passport valid for travel to the United States and with a validity date at least six months beyond your intended period of stay in the U.S. (unless country-specific agreements provide exemptions).
  • Divorce or death certificate(s) of any previous spouse(s) for both you and the U.S. citizen sponsor
  • Police certificates from your present country of residence and all countries where you have lived for six months or more since age 16 (Police certificates are also required for accompanying children age 16 or older)
  • Medical examination (vaccinations are optional, see below)
  • Evidence of financial support (Form I-134, Affidavit of Support, may be requested)
  • Two (2) 2x2 photographs. See the required photo format explained in Photograph Requirements
  • Evidence of relationship with your U.S. citizen fiancé(e)
  • Payment of fees, as explained below

Note: The consular officer may ask for additional information, such as photographs and other proof that the relationship with your U.S. citizen fiancé(e) is genuine. Documents in foreign languages, other than the language of the country in which the application takes place, should be translated. Applicants should take to the visa interview clear, legible photocopies of civil documents and translations, such as birth and divorce certificates. Original documents and translations will be returned.

These are only the basic items. Please check with your Embassy Instructions for further requirements. https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/us-visas/visa-information-resources/list-of-posts-k1-k3-visas.html

There was some information from the VJ Portal for your Embassy but it is a little old but I think most of it is still fresh so you can use it. The page is found here http://www.visajourney.com/consulates/index.php?ctry=Bolivia&cty=La

Good luck.

Thanks

but i think he does not explain me well When I called the first time they told me that the fiancée and the children would have a different number of cases. But 2 days later when I called they gave me a single number and they told me that it is a single number for all fisncee and children that kind of visa is like that.🤷🏻‍♀️???!!! Thanks for the rest of information.

Embassy, could you scan a copy and attach it to a PM here on VJ. Thanks.

i lol do that 👍🏻

I just got my packet 3/4 today from the Bogota Embassy by email. I don't know whether if they were going to send it anyways but I emailed them twice. I emailed them this morning and got it a few minutes ago.

I need some advice, we received a hardcopy NOA2 over a month ago

tAfter a few calls it turned out that the NVC has sent back the case to the USCIS, and now when calling the USCIS they say we have to wait another 180 days ...

What is this and how should we deal with this?

I am not sure what this is all about and perhaps someone can lend their expertise here but my heart goes out to you.

Thank you so much, everyone!

When you get your NVC letter you'll see the numbers and each of the children will have your case number but followed with 02 second child 03 etc. If you need help let me know. I had 2 K-2's and they are just as easy as your case.

There seems to be some additional steps that USCIS may have forgotten or missed or there are some issues from the background checks. This will delay you but no one can say with any certainty how long that will be. I'd count on at least 30-60 days to start. I know you are disappointed but if your marriage is meant to be the two of you will stick together and support each other and see this through. If I can help just PM me.

You might try both options below.

First try shooting off an email to the Ombudsman at cisombudsman@HQ.DHS.GOV The Ombudsman provides an impartial and independent perspective to USCIS in an attempt to resolve problems.

Second try your U.S. representative's contact information can be found in this handy directory, and your U.S. senator's information is in this one.

If you receive a response and it contains anyone of these sentences this will be the meaning of that phrase.

If the CSC response is due to a congressional case worker inquiry, the service center will say "security checks"

If the CSC response is from a regular service inquiry from their website, the service center will say "adjudication"
