Case number is what you use now. I have not needed the invoice number yet, and we have our interview already scheduled. Don't know of it differs between embassies, though.

Thank you for the info!! Yeah I was confused at first but I read that we only use the first one so. 😊

Anyone from late July got their number yet? I’m July 30th NOA2, wondering if it’s too early to inquire 🙄

At the very worst they will only tell you no, so if it will give you peace of mind and you dont mind maybe having to wait on hold then I say call.  Good luck.

Hi all,

Long story short, we applied to k1 visa last December. everything was smooth (NOA1, NOA2, NVC) until we called NVC to get our case number and for our surprise, the birthdate of the beneficiary was wrong. in the original petition and in the NOA letters it is right but apparently the agent in NVC entered it wrong in the systems. the tier 2 employee at NVC told us that they can't do nothing since it's already in transit to our embassy (LEBANON). and he said that we can contact the embassy to clarify the mistake.

we started browsing the internet and we found this lovely forum with all these lovely people sharing experiences. now of course we gonna complete our profile with the timeline but we are anxious about our issue so we are begging for someone who had the same mistake to tell us what to do...

should we contact the embassy, or leave it to the interview day? cz if we didn't call NVC, we wouldn't know about this mistake so it's not our duty to make them fix it... anybody?

thanks and good luck to all of you

Welcome to vj 😁

I would venture an email to the embassy to explain. If you leave it till the interview it might mess up your registration in their system. It doesnt hurt to contact them in any case.

Just got off the phone with NVC and a very rude woman gave me my case number. Now, I'm a little confused since she gave me two numbers (Case number and invoice number?) but I guess I should use the first one with the 3 letters of the embassy (I think I read it a few pages back) But excited that we got our case number already.

NOA2 7/20 (paper copy) and 7/23 (new website)

I think the invoice number is used for cr1? It's the casenumber starting with the 3 letters of the embassy that you will use from now on.

Good luck love!

Hi everyone! My NOA2 was approved in August but I thought I'd come to this thread to say hi and also to ask a few questions of some folks who have already gone through this process. First of all, I want to clarify that the affidavit of support form is the I-134 correct? What did you put for Part 3 Q.38? I intend for furnish room and board and we intend to share finances, but I don't know for "how long" (forever?) and the exact amount/disbursement of the finances (again, shared). Thanks in advance for your help!

Additionally, this one might be a bit more specific but I hope someone can help me with this. I just moved addresses literally three days after my NOA2 was issued. Would listing a different address under the affidavit of support mess something up in their system? How do I notify NVC/whoever that my address has changed?

Hey!! Just curious. Did you wait for the embassy to contact you or you contacted them first? They don’t have my fiancé’s email so I was wondering how they can reach out to him...

We waited 3 days, but did not hear from them, so I emailed them. The next day, they emailed me asking for the updated Phone Number, Email, and Address of my fiancée in Indonesia

Don’t know if this is the right place to ask but would it be a big problem if you don’t have a visa apointment letter yet before you go to the medical in the netherlands? It says you need to take it with you, but it is possible that there are no dates available

I'm just excited to see another person from Lebanon  there is only like 3 of us going through this process together right now, the rest are spousal visa, you and @Lilyrose are ahead of me, let's try to keep each other in loop with this embassy part.

I would also wait for the interview, if you are able to fix it when you are scheduling the interview, then great, but i dunno the possibility for that. good luck!!

yeyyy we are excited too and it makes things more easy if we know that some couples are on the same road with us.

anw how about we create a topic for all three of us and maybe couple more leabanese couples where we can share our experience and benefit from each others concerning the papers and the interviews from k1 until citizenship.

Leave it till the interview.

hmmm.. really torn between sending a simple email that can alert them but risking more wasted time or do your advise and have a surprise on the interview date...

It's a simple fix when you are standing in front of the CO. It's not a big deal, but trying to get your request to the right person and they entering it into the system, well that's going to be priceless if it happens. Good luck.

Many of our answers are predicated on the information you supply in your profile. When we look at the left column and can't determine your timeline or your Embassy it's hard for us to give you a factual answer. If you look at the profile others here, they have a flag for their country, so it makes it easy for us to reply as we can quickly determine your Embassy. Our answers will sometimes be tailored to a specific Embassy hence the reason for you to complete your profile.

So, if you could help yourself out and complete your profile sure would help us out when we want to reply to your question.

Go to the top right of this page select your name (it's on the upper right hand corner)>my profile>[below your picture on the right column] edit my profile. Scroll to the bottom and fill in "Immigration Info". There now we can better serve you.

Thanks

Once you get your case number from NVC do the follow where you can go ahead and schedule the medical. You can't schedule your interview until the case reaches the consulate. They'll send you P3; then you have to send the form to request an appointment back together with the confirmation page of the DS160 and a copy of your passport. After that you will get an email from them which gives you access to the digital appointment system where you can schedule (and pay) your appointment You schedule the medical with Dr Schulte and they will schedule you for the X-ray. You're supposed to go to the medical first and then go straight to the X-ray clinic.

You do not need the VOG translated, at the bottom is a little bit in English that is good enough.

Your birth certificate should be an international birth certificate. This has, among Dutch, also English, French German ect on it. If you have that international one you do not need to have it translated. Your gemeente will know what you need when you tell them you need an international one.

In the new revised I-134 form dated 2018 - Question #38 now regards contributions.  You leave the yes/no boxes "unchecked" and your explanation is submitted in Part 7 on page 8 of the new form.

You will do this:

3.a. "Page 4"

3.b. "Part Number 3"

3.c. "Item Number 38"

3.d. "N/A (K1 Visa Process For Permanent Residence)"
