NOA2 hard copy date, 26th July (online 27th)

NVC received it today, unfortunately my fiance had a grumpy, unhelpful, rude woman on the phone who told him it'd take 8 weeks for a number to be assigned.

I'm getting him to call Monday after work.

I think I got the same woman yesterday, she told me 8 weeks as well and I told her I will try tomorrow and she said it can take 8 weeks and to not call that often. But I am still calling today to see if I am lucky and get the number the following day like some others. Keep trying, some customer service reps are nicer than others.

Hi all,

Long story short, we applied to k1 visa last December. everything was smooth (NOA1, NOA2, NVC) until we called NVC to get our case number and for our surprise, the birthdate of the beneficiary was wrong. in the original petition and in the NOA letters it is right but apparently the agent in NVC entered it wrong in the systems. the tier 2 employee at NVC told us that they can't do nothing since it's already in transit to our embassy (LEBANON). and he said that we can contact the embassy to clarify the mistake.

we started browsing the internet and we found this lovely forum with all these lovely people sharing experiences. now of course we gonna complete our profile with the timeline but we are anxious about our issue so we are begging for someone who had the same mistake to tell us what to do...

should we contact the embassy, or leave it to the interview day? cz if we didn't call NVC, we wouldn't know about this mistake so it's not our duty to make them fix it... anybody?

thanks and good luck to all of you

Relax. It takes 3 - 4 weeks to get to NVC from USCIS AND your case number to be assign. Call after the 20th. Go and have some fun in your life and stress over this process. It's not going to go any faster if your calling every day. 😁

Is it normal that it says I have to send the nvc things? I thought that you don’t have to send them anything and they will send it to the embassy

Your right not send anything to NVC as that's for a CR-1 visa.

Coming up on two weeks since my status changed to "Ready." I completed the DS-160 and sent my packet 3 email two days after it was "Ready," and received a response scolding me for sending it before they asked. The case was "last updated" on August 3rd, and still says "Ready." Should I just keep waiting for a message from the consulate? So frustrated because I want to book my medical and interview ASAP! Here in Canada it seems as though people often have to wait a month or more for their interview time, and I really want POE at the end of October...

Just an update on this: I tried calling the Montreal consulate but they don't accept phone inquiries about immigrant visas, so I've sent them an email politely asking for the latest on my case. I'm expecting another generic response saying they're working on it, but it's nice to feel like I'm doing something...

Hmmmm I wonder why they don't accept phone calls. Could it be that they are busy sending out interview letters and they may not have time for you.

I'm just excited to see another person from Lebanon  there is only like 3 of us going through this process together right now, the rest are spousal visa, you and @Lilyrose are ahead of me, let's try to keep each other in loop with this embassy part.

I would also wait for the interview, if you are able to fix it when you are scheduling the interview, then great, but i dunno the possibility for that. good luck!!

I have the same NOA2 approval as you 26 mail 27 online. I also asked my fiance to call the NVC today and had a rude woman on the phone as well, maybe it was the same girl? She said it can take 6 weeks before they receive it but I told him to call again on Monday.

Just got off the phone with NVC and a very rude woman gave me my case number. Now, I'm a little confused since she gave me two numbers (Case number and invoice number?) but I guess I should use the first one with the 3 letters of the embassy (I think I read it a few pages back) But excited that we got our case number already.

Case number is what you use now. I have not needed the invoice number yet, and we have our interview already scheduled. Don't know of it differs between embassies, though.
