Passport is not needed for the medical. The passport is taken when you line up at the Embassy on the day of the interview.

SLEC wants the Interview letter from the National Visa Center (NVC) or Visa Interview Appointment Confirmation from the Embassy (just print off a screen shot of the confirmation page once your appointment has been secured) either or.

  • Principal Applicant - original & 1 photocopy

Will she need the photo copy of passport bio page?

A copy of the passport bio page is fine. They are not going to "police" your passport, just as long as it is current and it's hers. Embassy on the other hand will scrutinize the passport bio page.

Hi, after 26 days NVC finally received my case and today, was finally issued a case number. Although at first call agent wouldn't give me the case number because beneficiary DOB was incorrect. Kept saying 30 December but was told it was not the date they have on the system and gave me further instructions how to correct it. After i emailed asknvc the bio page with correct information of DOB, on a whim i called NVC again and told them 31 December instead. Lady gave me the case number right away and after checking CEAC status it shows, "At NVC".

I do apologize if this has been answered before, but can I pay for the visa fee at BPI bank now? Or do i need them to correct the DOB first before paying? Maybe you can help me @Greenbaum I'm not in a rush to schedule the interview but i would like to pay the visa now if i can to get one thing out of the way.

Also, i was told that i need to inform USEM of the correction in my Fiance's DOB as well. How do i inform them and when is the appropriate time to do that?

Thank you for all your help in advance.

Coming up on two weeks since my status changed to "Ready." I completed the DS-160 and sent my packet 3 email two days after it was "Ready," and received a response scolding me for sending it before they asked. The case was "last updated" on August 3rd, and still says "Ready." Should I just keep waiting for a message from the consulate? So frustrated because I want to book my medical and interview ASAP! Here in Canada it seems as though people often have to wait a month or more for their interview time, and I really want POE at the end of October...

Hey,

can you keep me updated on your status since I’m also from Canada and I’m so anxious!

Thanks!!

My NVC CEAC status says “ready.” I’m shocked at how fast that took

Does my fiancée have to wait until the actual letter that says “her petition is now at the embassy and here’s the instructions” in order for her to start scheduling everything on the online checklist (I.e. medical, interview, etc)?

I think it depends on the embassy, try to go to the country forum and get feedback from people that went through the same process. I was able to book the embassy appointment while my case was still in transit and the medical I did it 3 weeks ago without even having the case number. So it varies from country to country.

Keeping up with your Canadian friend's helps in understanding where your case is. But there are so many other options here on VJ that you can use along with your personal friends so I hope this helps.

Go up to Immigration Timelines on the blue ribbon above and select it. Once you are on the next page looked to your left and you will see a box that states, "find similar timelines" and select it. A list will populate with those who are processing close to your timeline. When they start to change you will soon be behind them. Also, there is another place you can go and follow others who are processing the same time you are and for the same Embassy. Go to the blue ribbon at the top of this page and select "portals". Scroll down the left-hand side of the page till you get to VJ "your country's name" Timelines. Just below it you'll see "K-1" so you select it and out pops a window with others from your country.

I don't have a P3 letter from your country to share with you. I am still building my library and to that end if and when you get a copy If you would be so kind as to make a copy and send it to me through PM I would greatly appreciate it. I use it to help others like yourself.

Here is a place to look for more information.

K-1 What's next after NVC

Go up to the blue ribbon at the top of the page and select "portals". Find your Embassy and there see your answer. Other place is your sub-forum. Top of the page again and then select "forums" and then scroll down 3/4 of the page and look for your country or your region and join that thread. Lots of people there who have the answers your looking for.

05/16/19 - Green Card Issue Date
