Hello all! Just called NVC (was not even put on hold!) and was told they had received our case today 8/2/18. Hoping to get that case number soon!

NOA1 12/6/17

NOA2 7/18/18

We got our case number the next day after case received.  Hopefully they will have yours quickly.

Ok so from what I read I need my WAC# and both our birthdates to call NVC. Well when I called today for the first time, this lady took my WAC# and then asked me what the date on my NOA2 is. I told her and she automatically said ‘You have to wait 6 weeks blah blah’. I have a feeling she didn’t even look at my case. When they look up our case, our Noa2 date should show up on her screen, no?? It was a useless call. Just wanted to vent!🤨

When you call NVC they ask your WAC number first. If it is not in the system they will ask your NOA2 date just to make sure that you have not been waiting 6 weeks already (cause then they have to escalate). If its not already 6 weeks ago they tell you the 6 weeks drivel, don't be bothered by it, its just a script.

If the case is in the system they can/will ask your full name and birthday and your fiancées full name and birthday. Then they will tell you its in and either give you the NVC number or tell you it hasn't been given a number yet and call back later.

For now forget about getting the NOA2 until you have finished your interview and she/he has landed in the states. We know two other couples recently and pressed the issue and their case was recalled from the Embassy and now they are waiting for something to happen. Been 2 weeks already and expect a few more. They had been approved and case reached the Embassy. So just lay back. There isn't anything you need the NOA2 for at this stage.

Thanks for this information @Greenbaum Nothing i can do at this point but wait since NVC still hasn't received our case after 21 days. If we do reach day 90 and still not received at NVC, would they reach out to USCIS for our case if i'm not in possession of our NOA2 approval hard copy? Thanks in advance for your help!

Yes, the theory is the batch after August 7th will be the 21st.   You may get lucky and go on the 7th also.   I hope you do.   I had my NVC case number assigned on July 25th, so I just missed the July 24th batch.

Thanks! That would be wonderful if we did! Will keep an eye on this theory! Thanks for noticing it, hope it’s right. We will see 😁

I just called and got my case number, it took 14 days

NOA2 approval: 7/18/2018

NVC received case number : 8/2/2018

I also updated the NVC tracker here

https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1k57PdywNRpUqytomJxMzz6_7DsMqpi52DgnaYt9FyC8/edit#gid=606080062

I wasn't on hold for 1 second. the link below is a good site for information, but instead of it saying people should call after 6pm, it should just say call at 7am. IMO.

https://sites.google.com/view/post-noa2/home

It really is surreal with how smooth/fast the process becomes after the NOA2

Finally got the P3 letter from the embassy, it took our post office longer to deliver it (I live in the capital, about 5km from the embassy) than DHL took to deliver our petition to the embassy, but can't complain 😀

Nobody can say with any certainty when the case number will be assigned. It used to take 10 business days but for some it's been more then 6 weeks to 6 months. Just have to have patience.

Thanks! Looks like I'm a one of the lucky ones as they assigned a case number today.

In my last post I gave a bit of concern and warning not to be to aggressive in trying to secure the NOA2 as we have seen a few cases where it was ask for and they found themselves have a new problem on their hands where their file was called back from the Embassy and now they don't know how long they will have to wait. Right now their wait time has been an additional 2 weeks with no communication from USCIS as to when the record will be release. I'm just trying to head off any problems for you but if you want to keep trying that's all up to you. You do not need the NOA2 letter for anything now till you process your AOS after marriage so plenty of time to get it after you are stateside. Their is nothing that you need that letter for to have your medical with SLEC or interview with USEM.

You still can call NVC for your case number, just not push the issue of receiving the NOA2. It should show up but like I said, don't push now because you don't need it.

I hope you understand the complexity that others are experiencing and you have the opportunity to avoid that.

Definitely helpful information and duly noted! I'll just keep calling NVC and hope they'll receive it before the 6 weeks. Thanks so much!!! @Greenbaum

NVC didn't have my file yet when I called yesterday, going to try again Monday, he said they are in New Hampshire on the East coast so a case from California will take the longest to reach since its across the county. I am thinking 2 weeks for snail mail.  He gave me the 6 week shpil but said it can be any day now too so feel free to call back and check. After 7 months of waiting for NOA2, 2 weeks is nothing at this point.

Hey guys! Does anyone know how long cases stay at NVC before they get sent to the embassy? I finally received my case # on 7-25. So it’s been 8 days. I’ve been looking at everyone’s timeline and it ranges from 5-8 days from receiving the case number. I’d appreciate the feedback. 😊

I received my case # on 7/20 and it still says "at NVC" today haha. No worries, its not just you :)

Is there a site where you can track the nvc status,  or just call?

Follow this link https://ceac.state.gov/ceacstattracker/status.aspx

Select "Immigrant" and enter your NVC case number. It will say your status is either "At NVC", In Transit", "Arrived", or "Ready." ("Ready" meaning the embassy has it and you can go ahead and schedule an interview time.)

Yes, check mark "I intend" and in Part 7 (page 8 ) add

3.b.  Part Number 3

3.c. Item Number 38

3.d. "N/A (K1 Visa Process for permanent residence)"

In the new revised I-134 form dated 2018 - Question #38 now regards contributions.  You leave the yes/no boxes "unchecked" and your explanation is submitted in Part 7 on page 8 of the new form.

You will do this:
3.a. "Page 4"

3.b. "Part Number 3"

3.c. "Item Number 38"

3.d. "N/A (Fiance Visa" rel="">K1 Visa Process For Permanent Residence)"

ok since you guys gave 2 different response...let's try to clear this part so no one else gets confused.  Does it matter if you check/uncheck the box?  It's the most asked about question in this form.  Has that affected the approval of a visa recently? I personally think it's safe to check "I Inted" just so that you lead them to part 7 where they can read the note saying "N/A (K1 Visa Process for permanent residence)
