Congrats to everyone!

Just got my approval as well!!!

NOA1-Jan. 10th

NOA2-July, 17th

I received the hard copy in the mail today (7/20).  Now awaiting arrival to the NVC so I can track it from there. When do you all believe I can start calling? 2 weeks from today maybe? My NOA2 stated it can take anywhere from 2-4 weeks to arrive to NVC.

Here is what I have for the documents and the procedures for China.

The P3 for GUZ is only 4 line items

1. DS-160 Confirmation Page

2. Copy of Passport Personal Page

3. 2 Passport style photos White Background, Well Lit, 50mm x 50mm

4. Return the P3 instructions page

#4 is what prevents people in China from getting a head start, they want the instructions page mailed back with the requested documents.

U.S. Consulate General Guangzhou when it is time to schedule an interview. K visa applicants will be notified by the U.S. Consulate General Guangzhou when it is time to schedule an interview.

Additional information is here http://www.visajourney.com/consulates/index.php?ctry=China&cty=Guangzhou

Here you will find Consulate and interview reviews http://www.visajourney.com/reviews/index.php?cnty=China

Thank you @Greenbaum!!!  Just some follow up questions below:

1. DS-160 Confirmation Page (When can I start the ds-160?)

2. Copy of Passport Personal Page (Is this from the beneficiary or the petitioner?)

3. 2 Passport style photos White Background, Well Lit, 50mm x 50mm (Are these for the beneficiary or the petitioner?)

4. Return the P3 instructions page (When will the beneficiary receive the P3?  Also, does this mean we simply tear off the P3 instruction page?)

❤️❤️❤️

Thank you so much, everyone!

Actually, there is no place on the DS160 for the case number, only the USCIS given WAC number....

I am ready to file it but have a few questions for my fiance, after that I will send it in

When is the right time to begin the ds-160?  Also, is it done on papers or electronically?  ❤️

Thank you so much, everyone!

I haven’t done it yet since I’m the petitioner. I was told I can complete it for my fiancé and have him print it out, but didn’t know if there was an expiration date to it if I complete it “too early”. Is that not a thing? Am I able to complete it now and have my fiancé print out the confirmation form?

&& thank you by the way!

You are right the beneficiary completes the ds-160.

It is electronic https://ceac.state.gov/GenNIV/Default.aspx and once you complete it, you will probably have to print the confirmation page and bring it to the interview.

I don't know how fast the embassy in China works, maybe there is a subforum for that information.  I think it's fine to fill it out once your application is moving through NVC.  In my case (Cuban having to interview in Guyana), I know that completing the DS160 happens before you can schedule your interview...

Good luck!

I received the hard copy of the NOA2 today. I have question the hard copy is dated 7/13/2018 but the new website shows 7/16/2018, which date is correct?

Doesn't matter. That date is not used for anything except to make you stress as to which one is right. There is no right because there is no question to answer with the right answer.

@Greenbaum thank you for the tag. (2 more days till poe!)

@Akiko & Brad

Hi

She can schedule medical with the NVC number, I’d suggest giving 10 day in between because she will need to show NVC mail at the medical which is sent in when the case goes to transit (just print it and take it with you),

Try to check my embassy review for tokyo, I wrote as detailed as I can and tag me if you need anything :)

There is no expiration date but there is a date that it must be completed by and that is the interview. Most Embassy's don't care when it gets done but @Hello729 has just pointed out that her Embassy requires it to be completed as part of the preparation paperwork that is returned to her Embassy. That's what is tricky. If your in a thread like this one, where everyone is from different country's which has different requirements then you could get the wrong answer. So it's best to go to the sub-forum for your country. Go to the top of this page. Choose the "forum" tab and then scroll 3/4 of the way down the page to see country specific sub-forums.

The DS - 160 is a document that stands on it's own. It does not affect anything. It does not need to be finished to do anything else but needs to be completed for the interview and it can be completed between now and the day before your interview. You can't use it to find any information about your case. You can't use if for anything other than for its original intent and that is for the CO to use during your interview to adjudicate your case.

Here is my advice. As a couple you work together answering the questions. Once you are complete and you believe it's ready STOP! Now, each of you look through the copy that is ready to be submitted. Look for blanks or unanswered questions, look for spelling errors and look at dates. Once BOTH are satisfied then the beneficiary is the one to take the oath and submit the document in their country.
