Wait did your fiancé just show up at the embassy without an interview? Hmmm you must have misunderstood. You still have to apply online for ds160 and register on the other website and pay fee before scheduling interview. Don’t forget the medical!!

It says ready because it’s ready for you to take the next steps. The interview is not the next step. Please read your country portal and follow directions. If there arents any I will gladly help you if need be.

@Joulie & Victor Hello! Thanks for assumption that we didn't have an appointment. We actually did. The Embassy won't let him do the interview without the PHYSICAL CASE sent from NVC. Medical is done weeks before. Not sure what you mean when the interview is not the next step. Clearly when the embassy got our case, we didn't do anything except the interview :)

Once you receive your case number it's time to be in charge of what time you choose when things get done. To smooth that trail for you I have a few things that will help you process your visa there in the Philippines.

@Greenbaum Thanks for the typical comment of yours! Completely helpful as always but was not necessary on what I posted. Still, Thanks for all our help, you're awesome!

Does anyone know if we are required to purchase 2 way ticket or is 1 way just fine?I’ve heard conflicting info about that. They will tell you to buy 2 way incase they have to return. Maybe depends on visa? Someone shed some experience. Thanks!

As others have pointed out no need for round trip ticket but the airfare difference between one way and two way can be a consideration. I understand the 2 way ticket in the event the beneficiary changes their mind as it does happen. Do what is best for you.

My fiance just had her interview today and they said she was approved. Hopefully she gets her passport back soon.

Question, I was looking at airfare and noticed one way direct flights from Colombia to NYC were expensive.

JetBlue has very affordable flights that have a layover in Florida, either FLL or Orlando. Does anyone know how long of layover is recommended because the POE will not be the final destination.

Thanks

Hi everyone! Happy to report I got my visa approved August 28th (Consulate in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil) Had the visa and envelope in hand September 4th, came to the US on September 14th, and got married on September 21st in a courthouse in NYC.

This part of the saga is now finally over, and onto the next one: AOS!

Best of luck to all of you who got the noa2 in July and might still be waiting for a POE. The time will come, what is meant to be yours, will be yours. And it will feel amazing!

xoxo

I advocate 3-4 hours between flights. One it typically enough if she is asked to move to a single room for minor questions and time to get through immigration, two to clear customs and 3 to retrieve her baggage (if needed) and then four onto her connecting gate. Also, its a long flight and gives her additional time to freshen up and get a bite to eat with a little relaxation time.

I just had my interview in Montreal, Canada!  I was approved!!! Super exciting.  I was wondering if anyone have/knows of Canadian forums regarding post interview and approval process.

For example for Canadian beneficiaries what the average wait is for the Visa, what should I expect my status on CEAC to look like, etc.
