I have already started following the September thread.

Thanks for the tip !!

Hi guys!

I've been away for a while from this forum. Trying to catch up. Hope everybody is doing great. I'm currently filling my DS-160 but Im just a little bit confused about this part so hoping maybe someone can help me about this....

I'm not a resident of any other country beside Colombia but  a few years ago I was in the US with a J-1 visa and I had a SSN only valid for the period I was working under J-1 visa. Am I supposed to put that number there? Also about National Identification Number, does it refer to my Colombian ID number? or maybe I should just check Does Not Apply for all 3?

Sorry to ask in this forum but didn't know where else...I ask in a Colombian subforum but no answer yet. It's a form used by all Embassy's so you would have been better off to ask in the "generic" K-1 forum which this thread is a part of.

I appreciate your help with this..

Thanks in advance

Once you are assigned a unique SSN that number stays with you till death. So, enter it onto the form. NIN reference's your country's ID if your country provides one. If not leave it blank. Best practice is if they ask for it and you have it, list it.

no problem, You waited so long!! I am still following December thread and I noticed there was more approvals this past week. I am so happy they are working on clearing them out now.  I wish you the best of luck!!

My fiance said it went smoothly. Our case was simple, no criminal records, no previous marriages and no kids in the pic, so it was straight forward.  We also compiled enough pictures and proof of our relationship.

Our case is finally ready ^~^

However I cancelled my medical of earlier this month because I was told it was going to take another 6 month for the USCIS the review the case.

With that in mind I planned a trip to my fiancee for 80 says starting the 13th of October but the NOA2 is going to expire in November.

What can I do to prevent having to redo the 129f and preferably also not cancel my trip?

I am confused you say your case is ready but USCIS is gong to take 6 months to review your case? I'm not sure what that means. Why is USCIS to review your case? Here is the answer to the second part of your post.

Contact your Embassy once they receive your case and ask for an extension. They are allowed to extend your NOA2 in four month increments up to one year at which point you would have to start over if you haven't completed your interview. Warning - The Embassy is under no obligation to extend your NOA2 and may require a good reason to do so. Best to contact them before venturing out on your trip.

Sounds like nvc sent back your case to Uscis to review. If that’s the case I’m sure you will get another NOA2?? I wouldn’t think they will use your old one anymore. You can still make a trip since Uscis has your file back and your back to only having noa1.

If the ceac status tracker says ‘issued’ does that mean that the visa will be send to me soon?

Edit: never mind, just got an email from the embassy!
