Looking for some advice here.  My Fiance's medical came back with Xrays saying she has TB.  St. Lukes in Manila told her she had 2 options.  Move to Manila, and do 132 treatments for 6 months, or she can do it at her local hospital, but after the 6 month treatment, would have to do an additional 12 months.  We chose Manila. That is correct information.

The question I have is this, is there a way to get a second opinion?  Second opinion will not be excepted by SLEC nor the Embassy. The skin/blood test didn't come back positive, and her sputum tests usually take a month or two to culture.

Are they making us wait for no reason?  The only reason I can think that they are putting you through this is your fiancé could die. Makes me want to follow their direction. I'm sure this isn't SLEC's first rodeo.

Can we do the initial vaccination in Manila, and the rest in US? Unless they are out of a certain drug for vaccinations after her treatment you should have them done there. They are part of the medical fee so why spend when you don't have to. When you get to the USA and do them they will be more expensive and there is much more paperwork needed for the AOS if some vaccinations are done in the USA.

Our application is now at the Manila Embassy, and I think it is valid for a year. It is valid for a year that date will correspond to the NOA2 so review it to determine the actual date. If for any reason you go beyond that date then you will be required to pay another fee.

Any advice on what to do would be appreciated.  Right now, we are just pushing forward and trying to keep our spirits high.

It's a good thing they caught the TB in time to cure it. This is going to be a rough time but many have had to complete this regiment so it's something that happens. I would invite you to ask your Philippines specific questions over in the sub-forum where there are many of us that can answer any questions you may have along the way. http://www.visajourney.com/forums/forum/129-philippines/

I guess every country has different protocols. So just put your passport number instead. one embassy may require ds160 confirmation number and another one doesn’t. You are best to ask someone from your country portal as they are more familiar of your screens. I suggest you reschedule your interview.

Thank you.   We were approved.   🎉

I want to thank all of my fellow Thai K1 applicants (past and present) and everyone else who has contributed to Visa Journey.   Everything progressed with our I-129F Petition and K1 Visa application as well as I could hope (other than being a long slow process).   I am not sure if I could make that claim if VJ was not holding our hand along the way.

Honorable mentions go to @Loren Y for letting me follow in his footsteps, @Naes for being a VJ friend and someone to talk to, @Greenbaum for his support, and @TBoneTX for setting me straight when I was off target and teaching me to be a good VJ contributor. (I am sure he has no idea what I am talking about.  😀).

Now I need to figure out which of the many VJ forums I need to start paying attention to...

Congrats!!!!!

dont lose your noa2, and keep a copy of the vaccination records.

and here you go :)

My fiance's interview is in the morning! I'm so excited and can't wait to hear all about it. This afternoon my baby sister (she's 17) and I went bridesmaid dress shopping so its getting really real. Even the Catalan girl my parents are hosting for the school year is getting excited and I've only met with her twice so far 😂 I've also figured out livestreaming on Youtube so his parents, my sister living in Spain, my Italian sister and her parents, and my cousin studying in Russia can watch.

We're anticipating and "approved, pending medical" result. The medical was done on the 28th and Knightsbridge requested two simple things (additional medical history and blood pressure readings), but the local doctors office can't wrap their minds around that simplicity. I believe he has gone 7 or 8 times since Knightsbridge to get it sorted. The doctor is not refusing, but taking his sweet time without any sense of urgency. The time between the medical and the interview would have been suffient if they would have just done what was needed the first time round (or the other 4 times he went prior to the medical requesting a patient summary) The final appointment for this medical drama should be Monday; I've told him to refuse to leave the office until he gets a fax receipt or an email sent confirmation. At the beginning of the week, Knightsbridge sent him a follow up email asking where the follow up information was. We're hoping that means they are going to send it off to the embassy quick one the receive it (but if I stay pessimistic about the speed I'll be pleasantly surprised when it works out better/faster than expected).

I have a friend getting married on October 6th, so I'm just hoping he is here by then since I RSVD'd for the two of us (she knows that could change at a moments notice though and is fine with it). Then, I'm aiming for our wedding on October 20th.

Because each Embassy is different in what their requirements are and what their process's are. That's why I always recommend at this stage where you have just received your case number that you slide over to your country's or region to ask specific questions to your Embassy,

My fiance was approved yesterday! He said the interview was easy and went without a hitch. Just waiting to get notice for him to pick up his passport, the officer told him he should get it within the next 2 weeks.

I am so happy for you!

Hello everyone...just a little update about us.

8/9/2018 our packet was received by the embassy.

Things moved pretty fast on the embassy part... 8/16/2018 they called my fiancé to come get his packet 3 and schedule the interview. It’s how they do it in Togo. But my fiancé was sick with mumps and a bad case of malaria and could not go.

8/20/2018 he pulled enough strength to at least go to the embassy and schedule his interview for 8/30/2018. And get the medical clinics addresses.

But after visiting the clinics we found out the medical exam takes two weeks to get results back because it’s sent to America to be reviewed and back to Togo. Also they only do visa exams on fridays. We emailed embassy about this and exaplained it would not Ben ready in time for the interview. but they told us to still come for interview and just bring medical results in later.

8/24/2018 he did medical exam.

8/30/2018 interview went really well and I was able to attend. But sadly because we did not have medical results the interviewer said he was sorry but he had to deny us until we get medical results.

9/7/2018 my fiancé got the results from the medical in a sealed envelope. He also got his x-ray disc and vacation records. The doctor never mentioned anything about my fiancé previous sickness of mumps/a contagious disease. So we feel positive he is fine from this. Mumps is only contagious for 5 days and he had his medical exam 12 days after getting sick with mumps. So thinking this won’t delay visa or be denied.

9/12/2018 the embassy was open and he was able to bring his medical exam results in. They said they will give it to the interviewer and call us. They also took his passport.

So now we still wait patiently for things to happen...it all seems positive. Seems like we will get our acceptance. My guess is next week...maybe Thursday they will call him to come pick up his visa!! Well I’m just guessing 😜. But really thinking we will have it soon!! Everything seems positive even if our procedure happened a little different then everyone else’s.

Thank you! My fiance said the CO interviewing him asked two serious questions, and then if he was excited to move to the US. I'm sure it will be a breeze for you two as well! Good luck!

They asked him "when did you two first meet" and "when did you first meet up in person". Barely serious in my opinion, but I'm not gonna ask them to have him come back to be grilled.

I actually had a dream the night before that we didnt get approved, but we didnt get denied either. I bolted upright in a panic. I guess dream me wanted to have a definite answer, even if it had ended up being a denial. I cant say I blame my subconsious thought 😂
