The key word is FILED. Not approved or completed. So has anyone ever FILED for you besides your current petitioner (in this case,  you = beneficiary). If so YES, if not NO. Most answer it NO as they have never had a case FILED for them prior to the current petitioner.

Thank you!

Recommended components of refugee domestic health assessments

  • Review all available records, including chest radiograph (ask for overseas records)
  • Complete a history and physical examination, including vision, hearing, and dental evaluation
  • Conduct mental health screening and, when clinically indicated, a more detailed social history, including any history of trauma, torture, or rape
  • Evaluate for infectious disease including tuberculosis, HIV and other sexually transmitted infections, and malaria and other parasitic infections (schistosomiasis and intestinal nematodes, including Strongyloides), depending on local epidemiology
  • Review overseas records for presumptive therapy for strongyloidiasis, schistosomiasis, or malaria, depending on point of departure
  • Evaluate for chronic diseases, including obesity, hypertension, diabetes, and nutritional deficiencies, such as vitamin B12 deficiency in select populations
  • Perform age-appropriate cancer screening, such as mammography, colonoscopy, or Papanicolaou test
  • Update immunizations as needed
  • Complete laboratory testing as clinically appropriate: hematologic testing, urinalysis, lead, HIV testing, hepatitis B testing for those arriving from countries with prevalence >2%, specific sexually transmitted infection testing, or other screening, such as basic metabolic panel and liver function testing

Thank you for this....hmmm so my fiancé 3 weeks ago became sick with the mumps and that made his body weak...this caused him to have to have a serious case of malaria. Your body when weak normally cant fight the malaria and youncsn get very sick. This is what happened to him. He had treatments and many antibiotics to kill the malaria. He missed his first appointment with the embassy to pick up our packet 3 and schedule his medical... and this is why our medical results didn’t come in time for his interview. He didn’t withhold this information from the doctor...and the doctor didn’t seem to show we should not have medical examination. So he did....but I’m imaging this will all show up in his medical results....he much better now and refusing his full strength. But now I’m wondering will that effect his medical results and our visa? Will he have to have a medical exam again to show he has no malaria before they issue his visa? Hmmmm 🤔 well....ugh

I did some research and all I can find is that they are concerned with contagious deceases. Malaria is not a contagious disease and therefore should not prevent the issuance of a visa. I'd be sure that somewhere in the medical report that it is duly notef that he is not contagious.

Hi all! I called my embassy on Friday and found out my file had been sitting on someone's desk for days 😂 I should receive packet 3 tomorrow.

I have one question regarding DS-160 question "Has anyone ever filed an immigrant petition on your behalf with the United States Citizenship and Immigration Services?" Should K-1 filers answer YES or NO? The sample form here on Visajourney says NO. But wasn't filing the i-129F with USCIS this (therefore, needing an answer YES)?

Thank you for any help.

In my case. I personally took it very literal, "Has ANYONE EVER filed" and by "anyone" I also considered my fiancee, so I answered YES. Its my current and only one ever petitioner. I passed the interview with no issues.

Had the interview today, approved! Woo! Thanks to everybody here who helped, and I'll be leaving a detailed consulate review to try to help guide people through the extremely poorly documented/explained process in Vietnam.

Thank you for this research....do we ever get to see these medical files. Medical care in Togo is horrible! These test they did go to America and back here for results....I’m asking if we ever get to see the medical results because it would be nice to have an accurate knowledge of my fiancé health. I noticed the medical report tells you if you are deficient in things like b-12. Just would be nice to see these medical results after the embassy done. And well my fiancé didn’t remember what they gave him for vaccinations, so this would be nice to know what they did. But his medical exam also was very simple....blood work, X-ray, urin sample and a very brief visit with the doctor who asked him if he had ever been very serious sick. This is when my fiancé said he was recuperating from malaria.

Hmmm mumps are contagious...but we don’t even know if that’s what he had. It’s just what I feel he had. Face and neck swelled three weeks ago and went away after 5 days. Was extremely painful and he had a horrible headache. Body hurt all over and then because his body was weak he couldn’t fight the malaria and became very sick from that. But medical care in Togo is horrible and he was never properly diangnosed for any of this. But what I think was mumps...he got from his sister who got from another girl in the village and my fiancé gave it to two others who live with him. Hmmm mumps is contagious .....wonder if this will cause problems with our visa....Friday I think we know more...Friday is when medical report is ready. Do we get to see it or must it remained sealed...thought I read somewhere it must remain sealed. Thanks again for the research. I don’t have much internet here in Togo and challenging to do my own searching...so I truly appreciate it!!!

First off I hope he is doing better. Second, you do not have access to the medical records other then what the examining establishment and the Embassy wants you to know. Third, you will know what vaccinations were given as he will receive a form DS-3025 which list all the vaccinations and that your vaccinations for travel to the USA are complete. This form is very important and is usually given to you at POE by immigration. You MUST safe keep this form as it must be included in the AOS package after marriage. Fourth, ANY contagious disease is grounds for delay or denial of the visa.

If you have a concerns for his interview, you can postpone it till he is in better condition health wise as he has one year from the NOA2 date to process the visa and be on American soil. This is an option and should seriously be considered. If you want more details then PM and we can discuss.

It must remain sealed. They should give you 2 envelopes one for the embassy. The other is going with him to America. I’m sure the doctor can give you a copy for yourself if you request it. The one he takes to America will stay with him after they look at it to process him. So you will have a copy of it I’m sure.
