Yes you can complete a second, third, fourth, fifth or more. Just take the copy of confirmation page with the bar code to the final one to the interview. No harm done.

It's just over something very silly to be honest. I think for my travel history I got it wrong (for the duration). Like for example, on 30th May I left Dublin to fly to Vegas via San Franciso and was back on Dublin soil on 7th June. I calculated this as 8 days which I thought was correct, but some say it should be 9 days. However, it was 8 days 18 hours in total. Being too exact. Just thought I was a day out on the part where you have to state the durations of each trip to the US.

For that trivial mistake I'd skip making a new one. The CO is not going to count the days on their fingers. Go with what you have which will not be a problem. I thought it was something more serious then that. I thought you wanted to confess to kicking your granny in the ankle or stealing her cane. :jest:

There are a couple of BRIGHT spots to your story. First, is that you were there for the interview supporting your beneficiary. That goes along ways with CO's. I attended my wife's interview in the Philippines, which is an Embassy that is probably the busiest in the world or close to it, and the CO stated the same to me that he was glad to see me there. For me it was an exciting time because I was able to witness one of the primary responsibilities for an Embassy. I was in awe the entire time. Second, that the CO kept your passport which is always a good sign. If during the interview it's returned then that means the case for a visa has been denied. Third, they are living up to their word, they knew you didn't have your medical case to present and they asked you to come in the same. Knowing that they gave you a pass till such time as you can produce your medical case to the CO. Once they receive that it's not going to be long before you see your passport with your visa inside. Take a big deep breath as you have nothing to worry about as shortly you will have that visa you been chasing. Good luck.

Thank you for the words of encouragement...we are feeling pretty good about it. Since it seemed to go so well. But...the only thing is they didn’t take his passport. They just said sorry we can’t issue a visa at this time because of no medical reports. But bring it in as soon as you get it. He was very nice and apologized to us and said he was very sorry we couldn’t get medical results in time. It seems all we need to do is bring results in and he will get an answer then. We see what September 11 brings. It was very interesting they asked for no supporting evidence relationship is continuing. Lol I think my precence was proof enough they didn’t need anything from the packets we had prepared. 😁😁 Deffinatly a BRIGHT side and we believe a soon happy answer.

His presence is a big factor in my opinion. How can it not be. In your case they returned your passport in the event that the medical comes back causing a denial. That way they don't have deal with or have the responsibility of getting it back to you.

Thank you!! We are feeling the same way!

Question....what are they exactly looking for in medical? Don’t think this will be an issue so we are feeling positive September 11 to get our approval 😁

From what I've heard, they won't deny it.

It depends on what the doctor found eg. if they found the spot in the applicant's lung, they will need to collect phlegm for at least 2 months to see if the patient tuberculosis. And if it's not the major thing, the doctor will just give the medicine until everything is good.

Please see page 7 to see what exactly what they're looking for on the medical examination.

Also, congratulations in advance. :D

I'll have an interview in a week and I'm so EXCITED! :X

Rarely does one fail the medical. If there is a problem and it can be rectified then you have the year they gave you on the NOA2 approval, to adjudicate your case. TB is problematic for Filipino's and this causes some to have to delay for 6 months as they go through treatment. Once cleared of TB they then interview and move to the US.  So I wouldn't worry.

Recommended components of refugee domestic health assessments

  • Review all available records, including chest radiograph (ask for overseas records)
  • Complete a history and physical examination, including vision, hearing, and dental evaluation
  • Conduct mental health screening and, when clinically indicated, a more detailed social history, including any history of trauma, torture, or rape
  • Evaluate for infectious disease including tuberculosis, HIV and other sexually transmitted infections, and malaria and other parasitic infections (schistosomiasis and intestinal nematodes, including Strongyloides), depending on local epidemiology
  • Review overseas records for presumptive therapy for strongyloidiasis, schistosomiasis, or malaria, depending on point of departure
  • Evaluate for chronic diseases, including obesity, hypertension, diabetes, and nutritional deficiencies, such as vitamin B12 deficiency in select populations
  • Perform age-appropriate cancer screening, such as mammography, colonoscopy, or Papanicolaou test
  • Update immunizations as needed
  • Complete laboratory testing as clinically appropriate: hematologic testing, urinalysis, lead, HIV testing, hepatitis B testing for those arriving from countries with prevalence >2%, specific sexually transmitted infection testing, or other screening, such as basic metabolic panel and liver function testing

You must pass the medical exam and if you do not pass then your case will be denied. The chances of that happening is slim but it can and does happen. You are correct that TB can be problematic but is curable. It just takes time.

You reference the Thai P3 page 7 which only expands on the vaccination not was is checked. The medical evaluation is only looking for anyone currently afflicted with a contagious or communicable disease of public health significance and will not be allowed to immigrate until cured. Most can be cured before issuance of the passport.

Hi all! I called my embassy on Friday and found out my file had been sitting on someone's desk for days 😂 I should receive packet 3 tomorrow.

I have one question regarding DS-160 question "Has anyone ever filed an immigrant petition on your behalf with the United States Citizenship and Immigration Services?" Should K-1 filers answer YES or NO? The sample form here on Visajourney says NO. But wasn't filing the i-129F with USCIS this (therefore, needing an answer YES)?

Thank you for any help.

The key word is FILED. Not approved or completed. So has anyone ever FILED for you besides your current petitioner (in this case,  you = beneficiary). If so YES, if not NO. Most answer it NO as they have never had a case FILED for them prior to the current petitioner.
