Hi all! Congratulations to everyone who is already approved or waiting for their interview.

Our file was sent out by NVC on August 21 like a lot of yours. However, it is still "In transit". I see that a lot of you got their status as "ready" just a couple of days after it was sent out. Also, I see many people already have their medical and interview scheduled. Should I contact NVC or consulate about this? Does anyone know of a similar case in the past?

I was really hoping for a September interview, but it's seeming less and less likely now :(

We have finally scheduled an interview in mid September and medical next week. 🙌🏽🙏🏽My anxiety is up the roof now for the next 3 weeks. And I’m not the one going to the interview😳 I’m so thankful for all your guidance everyone!!! If anyone needs help with anything don’t be shy, private message me. I’m going to finally update our old and unorganized portal.

Hi- how did you guys schedule your interview and medical appointments?

We are still waiting for our packet 3 from the embassy.  Our portal is outdated as well.

Looking forward to your reply and thanks in advance.

Thank you so much, everyone!

We had our interview today but unfortunately we were not approved and given a blue paper with requests for some more things to provide. We are devastated.

There's no harm in calling the Consulate it's going to :)

I'm so sorry that's happened to you guys/. Will you please tell the story how it went? Questions, answers and little reactions? So people can see what might be the reason and give some advice for future ones?

i didn't wait for P3 I got it from another member who was 2 weeks ahead of me, I had them email embassy because they waited almost 2 weeks and didnt get anything, so after the emailed, they got it the following day...email them!!!! Don't waste time. while your waiting for P3, complete DS-160 and print confirmation page. Since you are from China(I provided your website for you below), go to the 2nd link below and click immigrant to register under K1 visa. After you register and enter info it should be clear on how to pay fee, make sure you print Bank deposit slip. just follow directions under Nonimmigrant Visa, but make sure when you register K1 is under Immigrant Visa

Directions go to http://www.ustraveldocs.com/cn/cn-niv-visaapply.asp

Register(Create Account) https://cgifederal.secure.force.com/?language=English&country=China After you register make sure to choose K1 visa under Immigrant, it wasn't an option for me under non-immigrant (maybe yours is different i dunno)

This is a simple process. Check your email including your spam folder for an email from the embassy stating what you need to supply them so they can complete the processing of your case. Keep in mind that you were not approved TODAY but you STILL can be approved if you submit what they are asking for. The email is what is commonly referred to as a 221(g).

221(g) Procedure and Submission

The U.S. Embassy may issue a "221(g)" letter directing you to submit additional documents or information related to your visa application. Your application will be kept on hold at the Embassy until such a time as you submit those documents.

All additional documents and information asked for by the Embassy in a 221(g) letter should be submitted back to the Embassy. Follow the instructions contained within the 221(g) for further instructions and how to send the requested information to your Embassy.

http://www.visarefusal.com/221g/

The world did not end. Abide by the 221(g) and you should hear back from the Embassy within 5-10 business days for their final decision. BTW, if they kept your passport then you are still good for a visa.

I emailed them before about getting my packet 3 but received it the day after in the mail. After that I send the packet 3 back and emailed them that I was waiting for packet 4 to schedule. They said that they would schedule it for me and 2 days after they gave me the date (sept 18th) and told me to register and gave me the link.

So I think it’s better if you email them!
