My packet 3 letter from the embassy in Amsterdam says that they’ll schedule my appointment but I thought I have to do that myself and not them?

Hi!! Mine says that too. From my undertanding, some embassies do that which is pretty unfortunate. My medical appointment is on September 25th so I'm pretty worried that they schedule my interview before that, so I guess we would have to call to change the date in case it's not convenient for us.

Woop woop, we have an interview date! Case went to "Ready" on Friday and Italy's Packet 3 is a pretty simple list of the documents required, all of which we already have, so I did not wait to get that email from them. Getting our last couple of documents ready for when me and my parents go to visit my fiance and his family in Albania until Sept. 9th and on September 18 we will have our interview. Tentative POE is October 17th.

That's great news. Your in the fun part of the stages where you control things and you begin to see everything starting to fall in place.

My sole being here is to help people circumvent the mine (mind :D) fields so they don't make a mistake. Most Embassy's I have the P3 from but I don't from Italy. Would you be so kind in send me a copy my way. Just Personal Message me here on VJ. Thanks and smooth sailing ahead.

I saw that other people with the same embassy as me have to schedule it themselves, so I don’t really get it.

@vaksurik did your packet 3 said that they’ll schedule your appointment?

Hi guys! Happy Monday!  So I sent in the P3 without the request from the Montreal Consulate.  This is what I got as a response.  Have any of my fellow Canadian beneficiaries ever received this response before?  I thought our case was received by the Visa Unit already.  As of Aug 21 our case has been ready on CEAC.

Anyone run into this before?  Should I be worried?

Packet 3 says they'll schedule it, but they mean they'll send you a link after your send back what you need to, and you'll actually schedule it (and pay for it) yourself.

Right now there are no appointments and we're waiting for the embassy to open up more dates. We also still don't have the VOG (it's been a month now) - finally they're going to expedite it for us.

Is "Packet 3" and "Packet 4" Visajourney lingo? Nowhere on the the actual letters is it called this, and I'm just wondering if I'm referring to the right things when I use these words!

No, packet 4 says it. You have to collect all the documents and send back the checklist, appointment request, passport bio page, and ds160 confirmation page before you get it.

My packet 3 (K1 pre appointment checklist) says: only when we receive the “appointment request” we will schedule your appointment.

I haven’t got packet 4 yet. But send an email and they said they’ll schedule it for me and email me back, I think that’s weird.

and I have my medical this thursday and it says you need to bring a interview date letter? I don’t have that yet and hope it’s not a big problem

Our packet 3 does say they will schedule it, but what they really mean is once you return the required documents, they will send you a link to set up an embassy account so that you can pay for and schedule the appointment yourself. I know you can also schedule the appointment over the phone (since @Little_Vixen had to do it that way) so I'm assuming you could also email them. But you'll still need to set up that account and pay, as far as I know. I don't think they'll let you schedule without confirmation that they've received the documents Packet 3 tells you to send back.

Ahh thank you!

Do you have your medcial scheduled yet? I’m stressing about that they say you need to bring a interview date letter haha. Do you think that a case number is enough or do they really need it

I just asked my fiancé, and he said he simply told them he didn't have it yet, but he has a case number and they were satisfied with that! Ha! 😅 I totally didn't even know that was something they requested.

Ok so I have a question about P3. I'll type it as it is exactly:

12. PHYSICAL EXAMINATION: Please make all necessary arrangements to undergo a medical examination with one of the physicians authorized and included in the instruccions attached. You must pay the correspoding fee. All visa applicants (minor children too) require it. Please, send us a photocopy of the front side of the envelope as evidence that you have completed Medical Exam. Bring the sealed envelope, as the physician gave it to you, to the interview. If that envelope shows signs of tampering or has been opened it will not be accepted.

I get that I have to go with the envelope to the interview but I didn't know I had to send a copy of the envelope?? I have my medical appointment on September 25th so that means I can't send the P3 before that date? Do I have to wait until after my appoitnment to send it? I'm so confused 😕

Trust me on this, book the medical right away! You don't have to wait until you have the interview appointment. The most important thing is to make sure there is ten days in between your medical and you interview, they need time to get the results back and get them to the consulate. I got delayed three weeks because I didn't book the medical until I had my appointment.

But I have nothing to complain now, I'm in the US with my wife (in the mean time) for two weeks already :)
