Hi all,

I've scheduled my medical and they emailed me the required documents I need to take to the appointment, one of which is ' a letter or email from the Embassy/NVC to confirm your case number', I was given my case number over the phone, I haven't an email or anything from NVC confirming that is my number.. I called NVC and they couldn't give me what I needed, she just said I have to wait until the case moves to the Embassy, and then they'll notify me, so.. I may have to cancel my medical as I can't get that confirmation which simply is - an email or any correspondence linking my name to my case number..

Stuart

After getting notified and receiving your NOA2 send an email to NVC asking for them to email both you and your fiancé if any updates occur. In the past they have replied when your case was received from USCIS, another when your case number has been assigned and when your case is being sent out to your Embassy without you having to make any further queries by phone. Here is where you send this information to:

Email address: NVCINQUIRY@state.gov

Subject: Your receipt #

Body: Petitioner's Complete Name Birthday ; Beneficiary's Complete Name Birthday

Or use the online form

Could you let me know when you guys received your P3? Just would like to know how long it takes to arrive at home after consulate receives.

The consulate received our file from NVC on 8/9/2018 and we still are waiting for the P3 package.  The case was last updated yesterday per the CEAC tracker so we think the P3 package will arrive on Monday.

When you refer to CEAC tracker are you just talking about the website link? Or is there an app?  How do you know when your case was last update.  No dates show on mine when I look up our number.

Still waiting on Packet 3 and they  sent ours out to our consulate on August 7.  I hoping to see the words “READY” this coming week.  Looks like some lucky couples get their packet 3’s or statuses changed to ready within 5 days.

Thank you for answering. I saw your medical was on 16th. Could you finish it without P3?

tAfter a few calls it turned out that the NVC has sent back the case to the USCIS, and now when calling the USCIS they say we have to wait another 180 days ...

What is this and how should we deal with this?

... I missed this...

I'm so sorry! Did you by any chance put in an enquiry? I know cases get pulled back from nvc to finish those cause apparently uscis is unable to process them without the physical case (that's why vj experts say never ever file an enquiry).

I’ve been desperate to hear... How did your medical go? What was the process like?

Hey! Sorry for the delay. In London with Jake. Medical was great. Doctors are so lovely. Just make sure you have all the documents they ask for on your appointment email. Took 1 hour. Didn’t even get to see the nurse as all my vaccinations are up to date. People say that Knightsbridge is a nightmare. I’d imagine that’s only the case if you have any significant issues/past issues etc. Don’t worry though

No problem XD

We once called the NVC for the case number and a month after it as well but by them it was already sent back.

Not sure if that constitutes an inquiry

There seems to be some additional steps that USCIS may have forgotten or missed or there are some issues from the background checks. This will delay you but no one can say with any certainty how long that will be. I'd count on at least 30-60 days to start. I know you are disappointed but if your marriage is meant to be the two of you will stick together and support each other and see this through. If I can help just PM me.

You might try both options below.

First try shooting off an email to the Ombudsman at cisombudsman@HQ.DHS.GOV The Ombudsman provides an impartial and independent perspective to USCIS in an attempt to resolve problems.

Second try your U.S. representative's contact information can be found in this handy directory, and your U.S. senator's information is in this one.

If you receive a response and it contains anyone of these sentences this will be the meaning of that phrase.

If the CSC response is due to a congressional case worker inquiry, the service center will say "security checks"

If the CSC response is from a regular service inquiry from their website, the service center will say "adjudication"

Thanks, sounds like something I can do

One more question, is it safe to now travel to my fiancee using an esta for 3 months?
