I am currently working for a company on an L1-A visa.

Originally here on a L1-A visa from 2016 that expired in 2017 when another L1-A visa was successfully applied for. Same company, same role.

I have an opportunity to work for another team in the same company that I would really love to take on. It means a change in location, from the west coast to the east coast.

It also means a slight change in my job title from 'Software Development Engineer' to 'Software Application Engineer'

Is this allowed on my current visa? The immigration team for my company has been very very slow finding this out for me and I am worried the opportunity might be lost.

Thank you!

You have to contact the lawyers that did the L1 for you and ask them. Or have HR call them and ask them.

You might also want to ask your company to start the green card for you. It will take several years.

The L1 usually has a location tied to it, so it could be an issue. But I'm sure the lawyers know how to go around it.

You really need to get on their case then because regardless of what you find out over the internet, they are the guys who will be doing the paperwork, right?
