So you have 6 months from when the K1 is approved and you get the VISA to use it to enter the US.  You could always wait, go to the Bahamas in November, then enter the US from the Bahamas.

I doubt the OP wants to wait that long without seeing their loved one.

OP,  how do you know you will probably enter on a K1 in August ? Do you already have you NOA2?

#1 rule is to not book any plane ticket until the K1 Visa is in your hand, let a lone an overseas vacation trip without AP.

If you end up ditching entirely, don't just cancel it and lose the money. Most airlines will let you use that as a credit towards future travel, up to 12 months from booking. Usually a change fee + airfare difference will apply but it's better than losing 100% of your $$$

Another option is to see if you can change your destination to a US Virgin Island or Puerto Rico. Again, change fees will apply, etc.

The key is to make any changes before your original departure date. Doing it after your original departure date will be considered a "no show" and you lose everything.

I made a big mistake. I will probably enter the US on a K1 visa mid August. We wanted to do a sort of honeymoon / beach wedding ceremony and booked a vacation to the Bahama's in November. This morning I found out / realized that I can't travel out of the US until I have my greencard.

The only option I have is apply for the AOS A.S.A.P. and request for a advance parol, but apparently that takes 3 months.

Does anybody have any tips for me, or sees opportunity's I don't see? An expedited request for advance parol will not be granted I'm afraid.

Thank you!

You say you will probably enter the US mid August. Have you had your interview yet?  If not, has it been scheduled?  IMO, you have quite a while to wait for AP if you have not even been approved for K-1visa yet. Best of luck to you two on this journey. Visa journey provides a lot of value information. Let us know how it goes once you get to the US. :)

I have my interview and medical at the end of this month.

It is not that I didn't know. I just didn't think about it while booking because I was enthousiastic I think.

My Fiance got the hotel money back. Working on the airplane tickets now.

Thanx everyone for the replies.

Hope you get some of your money back (or maybe even a credit).

Then you can re-book for St Thomas or Puerto Rico! :)

I think it's tricky to travel to those islands too. I will play it safe and wait till I have my green card. But thanks for thinking with me :)
