No the letters will not come from the uscis local office ( you case will be send to your local office when your fingerprints review is completed, all your doc reviewed ,no RfE good to be schedule for an interview ). My bio letter took 4-5days after I received my 3 NoA1. So it depends 1 To 3 weeks maybe more each case is different.

They review my fingerprints first ? How do they do that :D ? Without me going somewhere for my fingerprints to be taken? ^^

After 8 hours at the DMV they finally approved for his ID. We have his SSN so that kind of helped too.

@Ana Maria mentioned that they got their's with an expiration date same as the I-94. However, John's I-94 is expired. So I have no idea what it will look like. They said we should receive in the mail in 7-10 days. Haven't gotten it yet, so we'll see.

Hi,

Did you know if he can get his driver's license now? Do you know the requires for getting a California driver's license? When I went, the agent wasn't being very helpful. :(

I believe California is one of the states where u can't get a License w/o GC/EAD
So check the Cal DMV website

I think you can only get a State ID

Mail takes up to 10 days to arrive after it is mailed (yes- USCIS still uses the slowest mail known to man)
So give them till weekend. If nothing then, consider calling them

That’s really good to know, my bad I should’ve not check the tick box on EAD form and I’d rather walk-in to SSA office to get a SSN. Now, I have to wait for my EAD to get my SSN and apply for ID and drivers license.

Why is that so and which city?.

they won’t give me drivers license if my i94 will expire within 30 days. BUT, if I have a Social security number they can give me one, I mean I can apply for ID and drivers license.

unfortunately, I didn’t get a SSN to SSA office, I checked the tick box on EAD Form to provide me social. I have to wait for my EAD to have my SSN and apply for Real ID and Drivers license.

In Missouri they would give you an ID with the validity of the I-94 for $11. (Been there, decided that it doesn't make sense) With that ID I could go to the DMV and get a dirver's license (been there, the lady suggested in the first place to get an ID then apply for a driver's license), but unfortunately would be valid as long as my I-94..... So to get a DL with one year of validity or longer I need a work permit or green card.... Maybe you are in the same situation

That’s true, same here in CA it’s just that you are right it doesn’t make any sense AND ALSO, they won’t give you one if the i94 will expire within 30 days.

But at least EAD seems to be picking up. I've been seeing late April folks get it lately.
So we're like 2.5-3 months away! Hang in there-- you can do it.

There are like 15 offices in California. Which one are you referring to?

Sorry, what I meant “IS IN CALIFORNIA” located in California which is San Jose, and that’s what I checked.

youre definitely right, better rely here on VJ, because what I’m reading here on VJ is based on real people, real experience.

This is true. There are certain states in US where undocumented immigrants can apply for drivers license, California is one of the sanctuary states. That is AB 60 drivers license.

i tried to apply for that one because I don’t have SSN and EAD and also my i94 is about to expire within 30 days, BUT the manager from DMV told me that it usually take up to 10 months there’s first review on DMV local office and second review on their main office which is in Sacramento.

i was advice to wait for my legal document which is EAD before applying for the regular license, because if I will apply for ab60 which will take up to 10 months and my EAD arrives early I can’t apply for a regular drivers license if I have a pending application for ab60.

And I think with all these fast offices- once you get GC, your EAD gets dropped. So there's even less people for NBC to process
I was originally thinking xmas for EAD but with the way things have moved since last week, am taking a chance at thanksgiving!!! lol
Of course my estimates shall revise if I see them stall over May 2018 folks so yea

Let's all be positive. the end is near!!!!!!!!!!! 😊
