Good afternoon to all July filers, did mines on the 27/7/18 , got married on the 15/7. Definitely happy right now and just gonna wait until things start to occur. Enrolling into School in the meanwhile.

Looking forward to my Biometrics appointment next week on the 8th! Hopefully we're all smooth sailors after the horrors of the K1 process. :)

Hello,

I got a courtesy letter yesterday. Does it mean I will be ready to be scheduled for an interview soon?

Thanks,

Hey Emylady, I just saw that you are also in Portland. Would you mind to share how long took to receive a notification (email or NOA1) after you sent your package?

Congratulations! School is a good idea to keep our mind busy during this waiting process! :)

I think it two just over 2 weeks. They sent my I-765 back so I’m still waiting for that NOA1 after I sent it again. The emails came about 4 days before the letter and I got the emails before they cashed my check. :)

Thank you for sharing! So, based on yours, I am still on time! My husband sent a cashier's check, so we are not able to track when the check was cashed! That left us with no clue about my process. 😕

Woow, that looks great. Nice hobby you got, and talent!

I am trying to just relax, some condo renovation, painting, plastering etc since I have the time.... Actually I was worried that I will be bored and first time in like 10 years not having a daily job, but it's actually nice. I can read, go to the gym when it's not busy,  watch movies, listen to music, go to the cinema for cheap cuz it's in the morning :). Will check this message in like 2-3 months and see how much my opinion has changed lol, but for now I think I am fine. Not really expecting to make new friends or acquaintances before I start to work, I am not that sociable person who makes new friends instantly....

Thank you for the compliment. I love doing paper craft because it is lower cost and in the same time it take time to finish it. So, it is perfect for long waiting like this.

Oh wow, it's sound fun! Did you have driving license? I didn't have one yet, so i can only do something at home. A bit bored actually :clock:

Also I was thinking to sign up for some ESL classes.... It's a longer commitment because you need to stay for like 6 months or so.... and I am not sure what If I will get a work permit and start working and won't be able to attend class?

At least here they offer classes from beginner to advanced....

Btw does anybody has experience with ESL classes?

can we take class while waiting? If possible I want to attend real estate class and sit for exam to get real estate license

It depends on the school

By law, yes, your K1 visa allows you to study.

It's up to the school to decide if they will accept you without a GC since you're technically not an international student.

Do keep in mind that if the school takes you, u most likely will be paying out of state tuition (since u're not a resident yet) so yea- it's gonna cost more
