Anyone who has their biometric appt soon,  i had at an appt at 2pm today. was out by 2:20pm. I was the only person there. They get you to fill out the AIW ( just a questionnaire info sheet really - basic info, name, height weight etc) . Then show ID, and appointment letter. anyone who has submitted the AOS in their new name, take your marriage certificate with you as proof of this. I did just in case and they asked to see it.

After this , i was called over for my photo, digital signature and finger prints.

Its as easy as that. Very friendly people, very quick! This was the office in SLC if anyone was wondering

Happy it went well! I've read some horror stories and some fairy tales about it, especially about waiting times!

Hopefully it will be a smooth process down here in Miami too! Even if "Miami" and "smooth process" is not a common combo 🤣

Aside from attending a swimming class, I am also keeping myself busy gardening, I have vertical garden for herbs and spices like mint, sage, green onions, oregano, basil, thyme, parsley and I also have tomato, cherry tomatoes, strawberry, eggplant, cucumber, green and red bell pepper.

i started planting a Valencia orange and Calamondin on the front yard, hoping that they’ll  grow fast lol.

one thing is for sure, Lowe’s is going to be my playground!! ❤️❤️❤️

Good Morning from Maine :) I sent all the paperwork (AOS(EAD/AP) on July 20th, it was received on the 23rd in Chicago. Haven't heard anything back yet. No e-notifications or anything.

Which USCIS number would I have to dial to ask if they received all the documents?

Also, what did you use as an identification via phone? Your A-Number? Is your (new) last name enough?

They will not entertain you with the question you have. They will said you are still in normal time. If you check the package tracker and they already receive it, it means they already receive it. Wait until they cash out the cheque. They are few people who are sending their packet on first week of July and still not receive it. Some of them don't even get a notification by email or text but then they receive the hard copy in the mail. Hope you will receive yours soon :)

Morning... I know what most of you will say but i figure i would ask.  My husband really wants to go to Spain for Christmas and is very hopeful that he will get his AP before Christmas.  He wants to purchase plane tickets with insurance of course  but I am so scared that he won't get it and then I will just have to deal with a canceled flight and travelers insurance.  What would you do?  If i buy them after AP which will hopefully be before Christmas, they will likely be super expensive.

Hi. What are the requirements for Biometric. I plan to renew my passport right after sending out AOS packet. Will they need my passport for Biometric? I worry I don't have other ID to present. Thank you

Oh hon

This is the $1MM dollar question.

When you say trip for xmas, what dates are you talking about?
I think you and I have similar timelines. And right now- AP is all over the place. Some are getting massively lucky and getting it at the 3.5-4 monthish mark (so about early to mid Nov. for us) and some also going 5+ months (saw someone in January just get it last week?) so that puts us at end of December...

Personally speaking, I hope we get EAD/AP by Xmas time so it's something to celebrate but am not putting a ticket in the books for this year (don't want any additional headaches)
I'll say this: What would be the price difference between buying now and buying it like 2 weeks before u gotta go?
Cuz if that's less than the headache of cancelling/traveler's insurance, don't do it?

Also- AP/EAD moves a lot during the year. U can consider waiting till maybe September/October to see if the pace increases/decreases and make a better decision then?

That's a great suggestion!  i will wait until September/October.  He understands that these things change and while he would love to go it is possible that we can't.  So we will see.  He hates feeling like a prisoner in this country.  I could understand him.  thanks again :)
