Darn it. I guess I got bad advice :(

We got my fiancé’s social security 4 days after she arrived. Just make sure you print out the I-94 and bring passport. She received her actual SS card a week after we applied. The only times people experience difficulty getting a SS number is if you go too soon to the SS office and they don’t see the POE I-94 registered. Since then we have been married and now our next step is to change her name on the S S card. From what I read here from other people’s experience is to get in their maiden name first then once married get the name change so that way her or his passport ID will be easier to ge the number  since that’s the name they arrived on. Also from what I read from other people’s experience is lawyers tend to get a lot of the information wrong. This community has been more than enough for most to get through the process and you get first hand real life advice form experienced  couples. Good luck and hope that helps

What do you mean they couldn't find your application?
I also would give them 30 days in case it takes time for them to put applications in their system

The USCIS staff told me my application is not registered yet so he cannot find in system.
So, I guess I will need to wait at least 30days if they sent NOA or not.

We called and were told the same thing. We filled July 13th and the package arrived July 16th. No NOA yet and when we called they said there was nothing in the system yet. :/ So annoying. Guess we'll keep waiting.

I find it interesting that they assign your receipt numbers on same day they get the package. My package arrived on the 17th and two of the apps were assigned numbers on that day.

Just me trying to figure out USCIS. Lol.
