We initially sent our AOS paperwork to Rapid Visa on July 3 for their review. It took them 5 days to thoroughly review it. Only to find out on the 10th, they require my husband to send stock and dividend certificates and some documents to prove we have no more mortgage in the bank for his properties to supplement I-864. Hence, we sent all these the following day, 11th for an overnight Fedex. I guess this is better than an RFE.

Subsequently, Rapid Visa filed our documents and sent it directly to USCIS Chicago last July 13 and was received with confirmation July 16. Finally, last night about 10:30PM of July 23, I received a notification for I-797 for me and two K2s. Three for each one of us.

Happy to share it is progressing but was a bit disappointed with Rapid Visa on that late feedback as we paid premium review of additional 100 USD the night before we sent they never said those additional docs. We were hoping an earlier NOA1 as my son is turning 19 on Dec 23. Overall, I can't complain much now that it is progressing.

God bless and good luck everyone on your journey.

Hi All, I did usps in boston to send to Chicago, they got it in 2 working days regular mail. they sent us all the forms back July 20 because I didn't pay the biometrics fee of $85.00. We only sent the $1140 usps money order. Just so you all know. I figure I could pay it when they send us an Biometric appointment.

We also forgot an page for the employment request. but we are happy that's all so far and that at least they checked everything with in 2 weeks.

Hello all,

I just successfully did walk-in for biometrics in Dallas ASC. No questions were asked, in and out within 15 minutes. The whole experience was pleasant and they are very friendly. Now waiting for EAD to be approved. :)

Glad to hear it. Are you going to expedite your EAD? We are looking at the possibility. His interview is in a week.

No, I will not expedite since I currently have work permit from F-1 status. Good luck with your interview.

I spoke to USCIS today and as others have mentioned, he said they can take up to 4 weeks from date received to accept the application. If it takes longer than 4 weeks then call them to follow up ☺️

Hello All

Update:  I sent my AOS paperwork on July 14, 2018.  It was received on July 17th via UPS (not USPS).  My husband received (LOL almost typed fiance) email notification overnight 7/24.  So now we wait for paper NOA1 and biometrics.  Good luck to all.

check hasn't been cashed yet

They sent you your email notification without cashing your check first? Is that common?

I just got off the phone with them....they received my AOS packet on July 5th and just sent the NOA out yesterday.  They were able to verify they received everything over the phone.

I found it strange too. I guess my bank just hasn't posted yet. Will update when they do.

Yea this is def odd
Typically, you see the cash withdrawn from your account the day you get the notifications
I'll be SHOCKED if your account is not withdrawn by tomorrow.

because keep in mind, they don't really cash the check direct per se. they do an EFTs- so they really want to do that FIRST (so the check doesn't bounce) before they give you your NOA1s...
Cuz if the check bounces, they send the packet back for insufficient funds.
This is why I think it takes a while to get the NOAs.
They gotta go through all that payment process first
