Hello everyone,

I am expecting the interview letter to arrive this week.

The question now is whether that K-1 medical exam is still good, or do I need to schedule a civil surgeon medical examination again (😪)?

I think it is supposed to be valid if you filed within a year of your overseas medical.

I would NOT take my word on it, so please do some research and decide it on your own.

Probably nobody wants to be blamed if turns out you need a new medical.

Found this:

Since it is 3 years old I would read the instructions of the I-693 directly from the USCIS website.

Good luck for your interview.

For those wondering about rescheduling your AOS interview. Stop reading the horror stories. I had my original interview scheduled for 7th November but we had a pre planned vacation. So rescheduled and sent all the evidence. We received our new date today for April 11th.

Eh, a six month delay is kind of a lot ...

But it’ll only be 9 months since i applied so I’m happy with that. Most people wait that long to begin with. But what I meant was that it’s not a problem to reschedule and people shouldn’t be worried.

Tammyjb-
The point is that you are at a fast office- with 3 month wait the first time and now a 5 month wait the second time.
For someone in one of the slower ones that already waited 12+ months, it could be another 12+ months before they see another date.
The panic with rescheduling isn't that it won't happen, it is that it adds extra time on an already exhaustively long process. So we advice people that unless you HAVE to, don't cancel it. Because immigration and waiting does create a ton of worry for people.

Good luck on your upcoming interview!

Hey friends!

Wow it's been awhile visiting this group. I was distracted since i got my EAD and plus i am working for Facebook now i was preoccupied and no reason for me to lurk here and stress myself when will my GC interview is gonna be. I am a July Filer, got my EAD November, i'm just wondering is it normal that i haven't gotten anything about the schedule of my interview. I am from San Jose, are there any filers here from San Jose? How is it going?

Good luck guys! Thanks!

It's normal
Check VJ for San Jose timelines. It could be up to a year or more.

As Ineedadisplayname said, the short answer is that it depends.
The idea is that if you filed AOS within one year of medical (which you did), u don't have to do another medical.
But lately, it seems that depending on the IO (immigration officer) you get, they can demand another one.

If you turned in the DS medical worksheet with your AOS and it was marked complete, It should be fine
But you could be one of the people who gets an IO that either doesn't know what's happening or just wants to make things difficult.
I suggest finding civil surgeons near you and having them ready in case you're told a new medical is needed. The prices can be steep so educate yourself in advance.

Good Luck!

My understanding is that I do not need one as well. Just wanted to double check with the group. :)

Question for anyone that has changed address.  Did you get an updated date for "your interview is ready to be scheduled."  I changed my address recently which puts me in another local office.  I got a notification today so I checked.  The address change was completed and the date for "your interview is ready to be scheduled" changed from August 2018 to April 4, 2019?  Just wondering if this is normal?  I hope W. Palm Beach office moves quicker.  Ugh.

Working on my EAD/AP renewal now cause you never know!

Guys I just did my interview! Officer said he'll review and we will hear from them in 2-4 weeks. My lawyer (who was at the interview too) said this is normal and actually knows the officer and said that's the norm for him lol. Rarely does an on the spot approval. Keeping our fingers crossed! They just looked through our pile of pics and asked us to pic like 6 of them. Didn't even ask for our joint accounts but checked our bills. I kinda feel nervous coz we were smiling the whole time coz my husband and I LOVE telling the story of how we met but the officer found it funny top and smiled a few times. Lol what can I say, I have a happy personality. 😊 We did our best and told the truth that we are just a couple of young broke millennials. Hope they send us a decision sooner! Good luck to everyone else waiting! I will update when I hear back. 😊😊😊

Thank you for the information.  I got the interview letter yesterday.

I am being asked to bring items that I already provided such as W2, tax form, letter from the employer, but it also says unless already submitted.

For the medical examination form, asked to bring the record or unless already submitted.

This makes me think do they have it or not. ugh. 😒

Bottom line I will bring everything with me.
