Uh, excuse me. There is plenty to be upset about when a bureaucrat that you and me pay tax dollars (and pay additional fees!) for and doesn’t properly do their job. We shouldn’t accept substandard and/or inefficient service.

And it doesn’t actually matter if this bureaucrat is still working there or not when we come back for ROC. Every agent in a department needs to put trust that the previous person who worked and approved a file did their job and not second guess their judgement.

I demand better. I pay them.

Preparation is everything. They tell you EXACTLY what to bring to the interview. It should be obvious that they want actual printed photos, and not on your phone. I'm very meticulous about making sure what I bring to the interview. I'm not going to take the chance of screwing it up. Taking much more than they require is better than wishing that you did once you get to the interview.

Hello everyone,

I am just done with my interview and it lasted for 45 minutes. Interview at 2.30 pm today till 3:30. At 4 pm I got an update that my application is in initial review status. What does that mean. Did anyone go through the same status after interview.

For clarity, did the status actually say "Initial review?"
What did the IO say at the interview? Typically at the end, they say something like "Am going to approve this application." Or "I will approve the application pending review from my supervisor" etc

If they approved it, they should have given you a letter instruction on how to remove conditions.

Would you share more on what happened?
That might help us decipher what your status actually means

Got a mail stating the application in initial review status. No update in website. The IO didn’t tell anything whether it is approved or not. In 120 days if you don’t get any update you can check with uscis is what she said. The IO is not that cool. Even when we wished her no smile no response from her.

oh
so you actually got a letter then.
Then I suppose all you have to do is wait. Give them their 120 days. Decision could some sooner than that
It most likely means they have some more reviewing to do you on your file

Your timeline says you came on a visiting visa and are adjusting based on that.
They might be scrutinizing that a bit more and doing some more review/background checks so give them time.
Good luck!

3 weeks until my wife's green card interview in St Louis. I have most of the documents we may need for the interview. Just a few more to get closer to the date. So far I've heard from others that the IO's there are easy to work with.

Your interview notice will tell you everything to bring to the interview, but of course don't believe it because its lying.

My wife's AOS had an unnecessary 2 week delay caused by an RFE for items that weren't listed to bring in the interview notice letter.

If your AOS is based on a previous filing (like a K-1 application, for example), bring your copy of that file with you because the doofus that interviews you will forget to request and review your file before your interview.

Oh yeah, hi everyone. My wife's AOS was approved on the 20th.

Yesterday Igot text and an email that my interview was scheduled.  I filed on 7/16/18 so I think it super fast for my office in Chicago to have the interview already.

Super excited.

I also got an alert (I'm in Chicago also).

Do you know how long until we will actually get the letter with the date? I tried to call yesterday and as per, she was super unhelpful.

My filing date was July 17th if my memory serves me correctly.
